Huh. Wonder if, at some point during those years, the chip went out. Though if it had, presumably it would have fried Spike's brain, since I doubt Wrella et al would have shelled out to have it fixed or replaced. Wouldn't have mattered over there, since I'm sure they put some sort of spell on their chattel, but...
