i just saw a really great movie at my internship at the Burns called Beauty Mark, a documentary based on body image and what people today consider beautiful. it was not approached with cynicism but with a true curiosity about why our vision of beauty is so blurred. it was really inspiring to meet the filmmaker Diane Isreal, even if she was a power

People don't believe me when I tell them I honestly don't find the dominant beauty ideal all that beautiful. They think I'm on some self-denying liberal head trip.
