Rewatch S6: The Third Man (6.03)

Sep 28, 2011 22:21

Today, we look at the return of Castiel and what changes now that we know what we know...

my 'people skills' are 'rusty', pardon me, but I have spent the past 'year' as a multidimensional wavelength of celestrial intent. )

I don't know about the handprint. It's still there in Heaven and Hell. Faded and nowhere near as angry red as when we first see it, but still, it looks nasty and not like it would go away all together.
Then again, HAH takes place what? two months after Lazarus Rizing? I'm no expert on burn wounds, so maybe it would stay sore and raised for some time and then fade completel?

There's also the possibility that the boys were rehymenated every time Cas brought them back to life.

*shrugs*

Oh yeah, I forgot it was still there in Heaven and Hell...let me look that up...yup, less than or exactly two months.

So, thinking back to my own second-degree burn...which was a LONG time ago..I remember that after a month it was still there, but it was pretty gross. After two months...I'm not sure. Hmm...we need a doctor to weigh in. But seeing as how Anna could put her hand on it, I'd say that it DOES lean more towards "permanent scar".

As you say though, Castiel did heal Dean at the end of Swan Song, maybe he erased scars too? *shrug*

I never thought of that sort-of smile Castiel gave the brothers (Sam?) as indulgent and a bit satisfied but that fits. Totally loved Sam making fun of Castiel's greeting and well, I like hearing about Castiel's other form.

Yes, I really liked that scene...but yeah, knowing that Cas rescued Sam from the cage, that smile takes on a new meaning.

"The quote-fingers around 'year' were for MY benefit. *mumbles about timeline*"

So TPTB really did warn us not to take that year thing seriously :)

Haha, yup, there were hints to EVERYTHING in this episode: 1) Something is wrong with Sam, 2)Castiel is shifty, 3)and we screwed up the timeline!

"This is one thing I wish they had explained better in S6. In S5 they ALWAYS had to call Cas, because they had the rib thing. Dean prayed for Cas back in S4, but that was before the ribs - so we assumed they stopped praying because of the ribs, instead of the fact that Cas was kicked out of heaven and slowly losing his mojo....here they just start back up the praying without explaining how they came to the conclusion that it'd work. ALSO how did Sam know Cas was alive? And if he DID figure that he was alive, how did he know he wasn't still ex-communicated from heaven?"

Yeah, I'm with you on this whole thing. It really bothered me!

Well, someone pointed out that Bobby would have told Sam that Cas was alive...but the prayer vs. call thing still bugs me! :P
