I seem to have completed my degree. It's quite odd to think there's nothing left. I'm going to celebrate by sitting on a train for 3.5 hours.

Today I had a 2 hour lecture with 900 other people, followed straight on by a 2 hour seminar all about adverbs (aagh) with 70 other people. Ridiculous, much?

Just got to write a german essay now, which should prove to be amusing, after the 3 hours of german lessons I've been to since I was 16.

Things that have pleased me today:

• Sort of managing to get a bank account of sorts
  
• Getting past security at La Sorbonne so I could actually get a registration form
  
• Catching up with certain people after months of practically no contact and ignoring all possible bad sides to this
  
• The Iain Archer album
  
• Finding out more people are Paris-bound than I ( Read more... )

In an incoherent nutshell:

Good: Snow Patrol/ Bell X1

Bad: Ending up with: concussion, shock, internal and external stitches in my head, a black eye and 'severe abdominal bruising' [hospital speak; essentially a bloody painful blue stomach] from a TWAT of a guy who stagedived onto me, resulting in me being carted off to hospital. Other person: I don't really like what you're playing, you've been playing a lot of indie toss lately.
Me: Fair enough, I'll change the album.
[puts new album on, goes back to essay]
Them: You're annoyed aren't you?
Me: [not annoyed] No..

I've also noticed that there's a direct correlation now between my increasingly poor vocabulary, and the increasing amount of books I read purely because they have a bright pink/blue/green cover.

Anyone got any decent recommendations of books? Taking into account that I hate anything remotely fantasy-like/sci-fi...
