I am so with you on that. The worst is when they use all our tax money and they're like, "A new government study indicates that broccoli MIGHT in fact be good for you."
Ha, I remember article I read about a year ago that said (I may be slightly exaggerating):
Scientists released the results of a 10 year long $5 million study surveying 100,000 people. The data show that the primary factors in the obesity epidemic are diet and lack of exercise.
This is just the IPCC's way of trying to get policy pushed through. The real story is that jury is out and will be out for a long time on how much is anthropogenic vs. natural variability. It's just way too hard to quantify this.
If you knew some of the people on the panel (I know of 3 from my department alone) you'll get different opinions... Because that's all the IPCC's "consensus" is. Don't get me wrong, I think something should be done and this is how IPCC is trying to create policy. It's still not solid science.

If you knew some of the people on the panel (I know of 3 from my department alone) you'll get different opinions... Because that's all the IPCC's "consensus" is. Don't get me wrong, I think something should be done and this is how IPCC is trying to create policy. It's still not solid science.
