Absolutely wonderful read! Loved watching the growing relationship, shifting from friends into more than friends but not really, and finally into definitely more than friends. The Warbler's concept of protecting Blaine and Kurt is hilarious but touching, insanely well-meaning as they were. There is such a stark contrast in Blaine's character: that undeniable darkness brought by his vampiric nature and that heart-wrenching confused innocence. It was sad to see him so desperately wanting to find a place for himself and he had to find it the hard way. I love how Kurt remained patient and unwavering in guiding and reassuring Blaine that no matter how Blaine tried to convince himself that he was evil, he had too much good in him to be one. Kurt is witty and sarcastic but his devotion, love and total, unquestioned acceptance of Blaine is lovely. It's both funny and touching to see that he never once doubted forming a relationship with a vampire, how he thought it was so cool! Absolutely adorable relationship between these two! :D

I happened to come to this by way of your kid!vamp fic, and I am now up way past my bedtime because of this, but it's okay because this was WONDERFUL. I'm such a sucker for a good vampire fic, and you hit on some of the main reasons: angst over being "other" and a monster, angst over wanting to be close to a human but being afraid of the bloodlust and potential physical complications. I love that you made Blaine only half-vamp, because it was really interesting to have him be able to pass as human but also be even more of an outcast and other since he's really the only kind of his kind, if that makes sense. And of course I adored that Kurt loved him and accepted him unconditionally and put up with his supernatural angst, and the ending was perfect -- it makes sense that Blaine will still struggle with his otherness and truly feeling independent of Dalton and its brainwashing for some time, but at least he has Kurt and hope for a happy future. So, yes. I really need to get to bed right now so I'm not a zombie at work tomorrow (sticking ( ... )
