Saw something bad today...

I heard the screams first. Not so unusual (sadly)... She screams quite a lot. He was yelling, too. The fight progressed onto the sidewalk. She was carrying her not-quite-toddler on her hip, and screaming at him something awful. The neighbors generally consider her to be off her nut, and I can't disagree. The volume decreased as the trouble moved ( Read more... )

Please report them to child protective services...that environment ma cause the child to be a screwed up adult. They will take a report and pursue it. Our tax money pays for it. Please...please... Your name will not be attached and you can ask them to remain anonymous. It may force the mother to protect her child and resources will be provided to her to help her restart her life. No child should have to live through that.

Trying to call. I got cut off. I'll give it 15 to see if they call me back, and then try calling them back.

you are just too awesome and that was the nurse/ mom in me talking. People want to save the animals... I want to save the children.
Sorry if that sounded like an over emotional plea, but your note hit a chord. Thank you for doing that. You get a big and beautiful karma button, Hopefully that call will the catalyst for screaming lady to make some lifestyle changes for her and her baby! **crossing finger**

Oh my god. And you guys were telling me about this women very recently, too! This is terrifying, and I don't like how the police are going on this just by the fact that they haven't gotten your statement already. Remember how they were very quick to arrive at the house because a couple of people were a little loud with laughing?

This is awful, for the woman and for the baby in particular.

oh my... I am sorry you were witness to that... keep yourself safe, and I am glad there are people like you out there who are willing to stand up and do what they can (even just calling the authorities).

Luckily she does not have to press charges He will be going to jail. The law is set up that if you hit your partner and the police are called off to jail goes the hitter for the night.

yup. unfortunately/fortunately for one of my aunts well over a 15years ago - I know that law was in place in florida. My aunt and her then husband were in an argument and it went out into the front yard. as the guy was screaming at her, my very young cousing was screaming at him to stop yelling at mommy. the neighbors called in the police and the asshat was taken off to jail, even though she didn't want to press charges.
This very soon was followed by their divorce.

Teaching where I teach I am thankful for these laws, but what sucks is that child services are so overworked that unless there are more calls and issues, that poor child will be back with both of those nutcases.

Sadly, most don't press charges because they are to afraid to. The earlier post about reporting it to child services is good but the police should actually be doing that as well.

Which is why the domestic violence laws were changed after a women did not press charges and ended up murdered after the cops came and went. Any abuse and they arrest and take the abuser away for the night. They also handcuff everyone involved. Domestic violence a is horribly twisted thing. They have had women attack the police when they arrest the abuser.
