my windowpanes are covered with tiny heart-shaped nose prints from merryweather-she presses her face against the glass when she is bird-watching. lately i have been taking her on supervised field trips in the yard, so she can roll around in the horseherb and dig hollows in the cool dirt. but now that she's gotten a taste of the outdoors, she mews ( Read more... )

i keep scrapbooks of all the inspiring images i see in home decorating magazines so that i can look at them before i fall asleep at night. (although this may not be the most effective sedative, since i find interior decorating magazines endlessly stimulating.)
