It has been a very… odd couple of months.  In the space of two months, there have been three deaths in the family.  Grandma Grace’s death was very difficult, and happened in December.  In the last couple of weeks, Great Uncle William passed away, and Bella, my step-grandmother, died a week ago today (they think).

Next week is likely to be Bella’s

I've been mulling over what to say, and it's difficult because everything sounds like a cliche. I think these things end up being cliched because they are true though.

Be glad you knew these people. Memories that hurt SO much close to the death will eventually be the ones that make you smile in remembrance.

Be glad you have the things that give you such stark contrast. To have been close enough to these people that it hurts when they leave, and to have such wonderful people close to you that the contrast is so pronounced are both massive privileges.
