It has been a very… odd couple of months.  In the space of two months, there have been three deaths in the family.  Grandma Grace’s death was very difficult, and happened in December.  In the last couple of weeks, Great Uncle William passed away, and Bella, my step-grandmother, died a week ago today (they think).

Saturday saw us celebrate our Friends' Christmas. It must be the third year that we've done this, and it's always a real pleasure to do. This year, there were a few more occasions to celebrate as well. We got together from 12pm, and started preparing our meal, so that we could sit down at 2:30pm/3pm for the full works. My sister K went into labour yesterday.

The net result of which is the arrival of Lola, my first niece!

Anyone for a cycle-about on Monday 29th August (Bank Holiday)? I'm thinking Leigh Woods for some skidding about. All those in favour reply / email me. We can meet at mine beforehand.

At some point, it'd be good to do the Bristol-Bath route before it gets too wet. I'm not convinced that I'll have the energy reserves for that until September/

M & I got engaged on Saturday 6th August. We reckon it's now high time to have a celebratory drink with friends.
