Your disdain for the domestic and the "grown-up" amuses me :) lol. First of all, we live in Ohio, which severely limits the options of the spontanious person in the first place. Secondly, the choice of the "non-conventional" lifestyle in the Bible Belt has it's drawbacks, as does the "conventional" route

When someone tells me to go find a hobby, I take it as hey go find something to do to fill your time because you don't have anything better to do. Now I "get" hobbies that are interest in something such as baking or crocheting and you do it for fun, ere go a hobby. But my attention span tends to resemble a butterfly. It flits around a lot. So even when I do become interested in something it usually doesn't stick with me long enough to be able to proclaim it a hobby. Le sigh.
