Jitters

Soooo. I've been applying for jobs left right and center, and finally earlier this week I did well at a telephone interview (best out of twenty-five interviewed *big grin*) and so I'm going to a second-stage, paid, whole-day thing. O.O I have very little idea what to expect, and am very nervous.

On the plus side:
- They pay me for this day regardless ( Read more... )

Ooooo, internships. Yep. Been doing that myself. And the job is a call centre. Charity work, on script. So it's not top-of-the-ladder, but it pays reasonably well (from my no-income perspective at least!) and it's easy to get to.

THANK YOU!! :D And good luck to you too!

Congrats on getting to the next stage :D!!

What kind of job is it?

"- Smart/casual dresscode, and I can wear my jeans. I'll be glad not to have to be in my slightly uncomfortably, hardly-worn office attire. Any comfort helps ease the nerves!"Honestly, if it were me I would definitely go smart - nothing makes a better impression at a job interview than turning up in smart business dress ( ... )

Oh I'm definitely going pretty smart. But as they specified in the information I was given and over the phone that jeans were acceptable and I have a pair that are still very new (and black), I'm going to stick with them and a smart top-half, I think. Unless it's baking, at which point I'm thinking smart, knee-length skirt. I've watched my mum dress for office work for quite a while and I think I've got the hang :D

Those stories don't surprise me, I have to say. I've heard a lot like them :) And thanks for the still-not-feeling-like-an-adult understanding - glad to know I'm not the only one! :)

Must be off to bed, early start tomorrow!

Yeah, fair enough... I guess I'm used to wearing suits now anyway - you're talking to someone who wears a suit on a night shift in case I have to give military briefs in the early hours of the morning :P.

You're definitely not the only one who still doesn't feel like an adult. I'm actually the only one out of my uni friends who actually has a real job... the other 4 are still students and we're all approaching 30 now (2 have PhDs and have just finished PGCEs, one is still doing his PhD and his girlfriend has just finished her bachelors) :P.

Btw, I just saw some more news regarding Supernatural season 7 UK airdates - they're now talking about early August, but no official date announced yet (not sure if it will happen though since they first said June, then July and now it's August).

It's something you get acclimatized too, I guess. :)

Thanks for the update! I've been keeping an eye out. I really need to settle into a routine with watching season 6, it's amazing how much more complicated it is to do when I'm living with my parents. XD

First of all: congratulations on getting past the first stage, and GOOD LUCK with the second stage! :D

"Oh, I'm such a child. I wonder if I'll feel like more of an adult with a proper (if temporary) 9-5 job? Because I may be twenty-one, but I still feel like a teenager." -- Haha, my dear, I'm 23 and I have a proper job and I still wake up every morning and think, "Really? I have to do this? Shouldn't I be, IDK, going to school?" XD

Though, to be honest, I don't think I will ever feel like a grown up. :P

Good luck, my friend! Just relax and be yourself, clearly they already liked what they saw enough to bring you back! I'll be sending positive energy your way and all the good wishes in the world that you get this job!
