StupidCollege is on its 3rd iteration of a "trial" with a 3-week January term, the politics and pedagogy of which are complex and infuriating as well as promising, and basically it needs work. But I'm not teaching in it, because it's not mandatory for anybody, and so I don't start my spring term til the 26th ( Read more... )

Alas for cold, for problematic baseboards, and aching knees. (I have been doing higher-impact workouts the past week and OUCH, my knees are not happy either.)

Lori said everything I would have said! And she said it so much better! (Except for the high impact workouts, at which I have failed. Utterly.) And I would add, StupidCollege may be stupid, but they're smart about not mandating participation in the trial January term. Right?
