It's unseasonably sunny and warm and too dry here in the foothills this winter (winter? ha!) but otherwise we are in more than usual chaos. B is in the midst of shutting down his business after working at it his entire adult life. We've had unseasonably warm and lovely weather here in the foothills for the last couple of weeks, giving B time to finally chop up and split the two giant fallen oaks that have lingered on the property for sometime now (one for close to two years). I even managed to help stack some, before my back and elbows  rebelled...so how much wood ( Read more... )

So far this morning we've had bright sun (early), clouds, rain, hail and now snow. Never a dull moment.

Overall, it's been a pretty good year here in the foothills, so I wanted to document that before the end of it.

Last weekend involved a mad dash down to San Diego and a speedy return via Bakersfield for family, friends and legal matters. (OMG! I have a will! and it's signed and everything!)
