It's unseasonably sunny and warm and too dry here in the foothills this winter (winter? ha!) but otherwise we are in more than usual chaos. B is in the midst of shutting down his business after working at it his entire adult life. Not retiring, but no longer going to be an employer of others, which is a sad commentary on the state of

I'm sorry to hear about the book business. Amazon has been wonderful in some ways but has completely killed the small book seller.

We actually sell our out-of-print titles on Amazon like almost every other small bookseller, but B had a specialty new book catalog for years. Now people just use his catalogs to shop and then go buy it from Amazon. Not a model for making payroll, unfortunately.
