I celebrated my one year anniversary. However, it isn't a celebration I can share with strangers. It's not a subject employed in small-talk. I did not spend the "big day" having a romantic dinner or a huge party

And I congratulate you on that year. I wish I could go that long. So far, I have been unable to go longer than 4 or 5 months without self-injury or eating-disordered behaviors... And I started cutting at age 4.
You write beautifully. With writing skill like that, you'd think you would never need to write out your thoughts upon your skin with a sharpened implement. But no one is exempt from the horrible desires of control - no matter how perverted the "control" is.

Unfortunately, there aren't always words to describe a feeling, and when that occurs, there is the simplicity of the blade.
