Thank you, I'm glad you're enjoying it.
Poor Arthur indeed...I have a bit more angst to lay at his feet before his role in the story is mostly done. I have a feeling you're probably not wrong about Ivan's thinking in this... ;-)

Poor Alfred, his freedom was cut so short. I love the way the story is going through. One quick question does Francis know it was Alfred that was to be married?

I swear, when I was reading this it seemed like more of a a doujin script more than anything and I am very tempted to draw it. Very tempted indeed...if I wasn't so inexperienced XDDD

I'll admit I'm not familiar enough with doujin to know if that's a good thing or not but I'll take it as a compliment... ;-) I would get massively flaily if anyone ever wanted to do fanart of my work but I warn that this is going to be a very epic very long ride before it's over

Is that possessive!Ivan I see rearing his awesome head? Hello, possessive!Ivan.
I'm in love with this fill so far-- the tone of it, the description and the character set-up. I actually got a little giddy seeing that the second part had been posted XD XD
As for the events so far, it seems like Ivan was aware of more than Alfred's exploits... and he fully intended to be leaving with Alfred and not Matthew. I could be wrong though >->

I absolutely love this and I love your writing! While reading I thought "Ah, why is a writing like this wasting time writing fanfic... ah, no, if this anon weren't wasting time writing this then I wouldn't get to read it...!" Really, your writing is excellent and I love the tension in the room. ♥ Silly Alfred, letting himself be cornered they way he did, but he totally would go crashing into the situation like that. I'm looking forward to the next bit and especially Ivan and Alfred's post-planning talk. ♥

Note: This is a long one it probably could have and should have been split into two chapters but I'm trying to keep chapters that are not from Alfred's POV to a minimum so it just feels better that this be one chunk. From here on out I will try to keep chapters to a much shorter length. (Hopefully at any rate

With a sigh he reached into the drawer that had held Alfred's pen and pulled out his own. He didn't not need to say the words to set the spell in motion on it he had done that earlier before Ivan had arrived not wanting to give himself even one more moment to double think what he was about to do. He'd had everything about this meeting planned but then Alfred had arrived to turn things on their head. It was nice to know that some things in life never changed

Arthur sighed and pulled the contract towards him. He could not put this off any longer if he did it would just be that much harder to do it. This wasn't even going to be the hard part, this was only the betrothal contract. He glanced over at Ivan in time to see the King nestling the two pens now in his possession together and slipping them back into his pocked. A satisfied smile flitting across his lips. It wasn't smug but it was close enough to make England's hackles rise and every bit of protectiveness that he felt for Alfred, that he always felt for Alfred, rush to the forefront. He would sign the contract, there was no other choice, but he would make sure that Ivan knew that it wouldn't give him free reign to do whatever he chose to Alfred

There was a moment of silence with only the rustling of papers filling the air. "It is almost done," Ivan corrected. Arthur glanced up at him in exasperation at what the man could possibly want that couldn't wait until the actual ceremony or at least until dinner. "We need to have a witnesses signature on the contract yet," Ivan explained as he held up the contract so Arthur could see the empty space beneath his own

To Arthur's relief Ivan finally left with purposeful strides and a soft swish of fabric. He waited a long moment and then stood and crossed over to the windows leaning against the pane of one he looked out. This window overlooked expansive private back garden that connected with Francis' rose garden. All the families chambers overlooked the gardens he figured if he waited long enough Alfred would appear. His favorite place to stomp around when he'd gotten in trouble or was just in a bad mood was under the large tree that overlooked the small pond in the center garden. He would come here to mope and if he was planning an immediate escape he could make it from the garden. Arthur frowned, he would need to inform the guards that Alfred was not allowed to leave the castle grounds but that could wait. He had a bit of time, Alfred would want to see Matthew before he tried to run
