For those who don't know: English aid to the Portuguese dates as far back as 1147 with the Siege of Lisbon and their alliance was formed on June 13, 1373 and is still going very strong today
( ... )
How about another layer of lulz?

I mean, Alfred and Brazil!
"The United States was the first country to establish a consulate in Brazil in 1808, following the transfer of the Portuguese royal court to Rio de Janeiro and the subsequent opening of the ports to foreign ships. It was also the first nation to recognize Brazilian independence from Portugal in 1824, two years after its proclamation.
However, it was not until after World War II that the United States became Brazil's most important trading partner and foreign investor."
I mean, I know they're not the closest of friends, but they're rather significant allies.

One more thing about Portugal's quote: Include "especially when you have a hangover" in it.
So it should read:
"Make sure they know what sex is. Having to give the The Talk to your lover the morning after is NOT A GOOD EXPERIENCE...Especially when you have a hangover..."
