Alfred let go of a short, fake laughter. "A party! My mom had just killed herself, and they.. They wanted a party! Fuckers!" Alfred was shaking, but he wasn't going to be hold again. Instead he settled next to Arthur again as he continued. "Daddy was.. He reacted weirdly, it was just, I mean, he was sad, but then he started fucking women and men all over. He went nuts. At one point Matthew and I walked in on him, and he was like, daddy, why are you fucking the maid? And he said, boys, this is not fucking, this is just love. And that he always said. Always. He was just, like… in everyone's pants. Skirts. When we made him stuff as a present, he would be happy, but I never saw him smile brighter than when he had just fucked someone. It was like a boost to him, he got energy and felt loved, I guess

Did Arthur unintentionally out himself to his entire office? Knowing these two I can't imagine there's anyone in a ten mile radius who didn't hear them shouting about dicks.
And poor Alfred. After a traumatic childhood like that, no wonder he's so messed up. If only his mom had been a stronger person...
You are right the end of this chapter is very cute. But I'm still looking forward to whatever will happen at Francis' birthday party.

Same anon.
So apparently rereading your entire fic and watching the move "The Family Man" is a bad combo, like milk and oranges. The combination has lead me to believe that the Russian tourist rapist guy in the first chapter is secretly Arthur's guardian angel, who set this whole story into motion to make sure Arthur would no longer live a life of lies, dissatisfaction, and loneliness.
I may just be delusional though.
Regardless of my crazy theories, this has made me want a section in the epilogue regarding him. If you could make it so authornon I would be very grateful, although all I can offer in return are internets, cookies, firstborns, and proposals, none of which are redeemable for anything in real life.
Oh wow, excuse my French but that's one hell of a theory xD Interesting, but I must admit that the Russian is nothing but a common, drunk man who have had a rough night. You might find a story about him floating around the Kink Meme in a few months - I like connecting stories together. Same goes for Matthew.

Awww I'm so happy that thing's going good again TTwTT There's been so sad lately and I don't know if I could take more of it. The idea of starting over, in that way, is rather interesting. I like how Arthur's finally being honest here x3 Anon!Author (not exactly anon xD), you never fail to surprise me x3 I so love your fics <3

Francis was watching him with bored eyes from the other side of the desk. The way he occasionally looked at his nails to make sure they were completely clean, and the way he swayed in his chair as if he was about to fall asleep made Arthur wonder if he even cared for him telling him all this. It was as if the Frenchman had read his mind from the second he entered the office, and from then on just had let Arthur dig his own grave
