kind of sweet
Cuba tucks a lock of Canada’s hair out of his face, but then leaves it tangled there. He likes to touch Canada, who is strangely warm for a northern nation. “Russia is looking at you again,” he mutters, glancing to the left where Russia is trying to be discreet about watching them. Usually Canada replies that, no, Russia is in fact looking at Cuba, but he breaks the mold this time.
“He’s looking at both of us,” he says, “It’s kind of sweet.” Cuba knows that look on Canada’s face. Even as Canada leans into his hand, his eyes are on Russia discreetly, and his lips are drawn into that small, wistful smile that he had spent a decade looking at Cuba with.
“You think so?” Cuba asks. That look surprises him. A smile crawls on to his face. Canada kisses his cheek.

Cuba is never sure which time zone Russia will be in on any given day. It’s not uncommon for Cuba to be forwarded directly to voicemail when he calls Russia. It’s never anything urgent, anyway. He calls and tells Russia how he has caught fish that day, and Russia would enjoy them so next time he is at Cuba’s house, Cuba will fry some of them for him. He calls to say hello, how are you, I can’t wait for you to visit.
Russia calls him back. I’m fine, thank you for calling. Thank you for calling. Russia is always so relieved that Cuba calls. Canada says that Russia’s reactions to his phone calls are much the same as the reactions that Cuba gets: if they don’t get voicemail, but instead Russia himself, then Russia drops whatever he’s doing to talk to them. If they do have to leave a message, then Russia is apologetic when he calls back to a strange degree.
I’m a little worried Canada says in an email to Cuba, Russia seems like he’s unsure that we like him. You did tell him that we both really like him, eh? He should know we

When he tells Ukraine, she doesn’t believe him at first. Fairly so, because Russia isn’t sure that he believes it, either. Maybe it would hurt other people, for their sister to be stunning that not one but two people are interested in them. But Russia thinks that Ukraine is right to be surprised. Especially because one of them is Canada, who (Russia knows, because he pays very close attention to Ukraine and to Canada, now) Ukraine considers herself to be good friends with. But Canada has not said anything to her yet.
“Maybe he thinks I wouldn’t approve,” Ukraine considered. Her lips were turned into a frown, which in turn made Russia frown.
“Nyet,” Russia said, “I think that he just… does not share with people, da?”
“I guess that that’s true,” Ukraine says. The smile returns to her face, and she hugs Russia. “I’m so happy for you,” she adds, “Canada is a wonderful nation, and I’m sure that Cuba is, too.”

:D thanks. I only regret that Russia wasn't creepier, but I guess since my vague sense of when for this fluff says he's been democratic for at least ten years when this all happens, it isn't too much of a problem. (y'all are lucky that this is fluff; otherwise there would have been lots more problems for the poor dears.)

Awwww! Nervous!Russia is precious, and everyone seems totally in-character. Though I'm more of a Franada and RoChu fan, this is a pairing I would definitely read more of. To be honest, I knew it was bound to be awesome, but I don't think I anticipated squeeing as much as I did.

I'm a little stunned at how long this is, too! Personally I really like smut, but really I love totally G fluff. It's adorable and writing it is fun, and I can show it to whomever I want without have to explain cross dressing and anal and stuff. XD I love you, too, OP. Maybe someday I'll deanon...
