America has the mind of a child

reposting from last time, I hope I did everything right this time around ^^U
What if America is so childish because he truly is a child? His body was forced to developed to that of an adult because his lands were getting really powerful and wealthy very fast, but his mind remained like a child’s. He’s essentially a little boy trapped in the body of a gorgeous teen.
Someone tries to have sex with him and notices something’s off whether they succeed…OPanon is a perv. I’d prefer if he didn’t panic so much as he doesn’t even know what’s going on. This is the start of everyone’s suspicions. Whether Canada knows or not, I leave up to you, but he doesn’t have the same problem.
Bonuses.
- Russia has the same problem and that’s why he loves to “play with America ^J^” - England discovers the truth when he visits unannounced and meets a government-paid babysitter that makes sure he eats his veggies and doesn’t go to bed very late playing videogames. He shoos her off and takes care of him himself ^^

Ahhh! I love it already! I love the role you've put Matthew in, and I cant wait to see more. This concept is just so awesome and you're handling it very well!

Matthew is a good brother to America and America is adorable but Matthew isn't going to be 'grownup' too right? He's just mature even for his mindset? Because the two are nearly twins so I was just wondering since that would be odd.

Thanks for asking!
The prompt that this story is based upon specifically states that Matthew isn't supposed to have the same problem. The idea is that America was forced to grow up because of the incredible responsibilities he received early on as a Nation; despite this, he still has the mindset of a child. I've also indulged in the belief that his human keepers were very protective of him, so he hasn't got as much life experience as someone of his age should have, either.
Matthew's national responsibilities were dispensed at a far more leisurely pace and so he had more time to grow into them and mature.
And for the sake of this request, they're not twins. Canadian!Anon has never liked that detail of the NA brothers' relationship that much anyway, because twinliness suggests a certain sort of conformity in terms of development, age, size, etc. Almost 100 years separate them in terms of independence alone.

Now I get it! Thank you for giving me such a thought out explanation! I guess America's mind kinda rebelled against all the expectations TT.TT poor guy.
I loved this so much I don't have to words to express it <3<3<3
First, the calm scene was beautiful. And just picturing those two looking at the sky and searching for shooting stars...dawww. Then, the Southern woman is freakin awesome, and I certainly hope we see more of her (more than I had originally thought!).
And your Matt? Simply gorgeous! As an older sibling, I can totally notice the wonderful ways in which he tried to create that special 'complicity' with the youngers for their own good (when he called him 'buddy' after he said he wanted to fire Vi...awww, Matt, you're awesome. Also, that was a nice scene that included the fact that Al more or less knows how much power he has, but also showed his immaturity kiddy selfishness but also how quickly he forgets about it...also very typical of kids!). I loved their brotherly dynamic so much I surprised myself. I loved it even more after the playful interaction with Vi, too, since it hints that concessions on Matt's part have been done before, and that's just so damned cute ^^

Alfred didn't fully understand the importance of him staying in Washington, not only because of how useful he was there, but because of his almost childish naivete. Most Presidents never did understand why Alfred was so different compared to the other nations they had met

He still felt the need to treat his brother like an adult, despite what his superiors were wont to do. He would have been loathe to say what General (no, not General, President) Eisenhower had wanted him to, which was that Alfred was grounded for the rest of his term and maybe then he'd think twice about running off. After all, this was Alfred, who'd fought against him back in the War of 1812 and even earned his independence in bloody combat. There was no denying the wisdom of his childish eyes

I love the mix between Alfred's childishness and the adult experiences he's had. I also loved the mention of Marlon Brando (anon loves Brando!) and I really liked the affinity everyone had for Alfred. It was adorable. And above all, this line: "I'm not friends with him any more," Alfred said after a long guilty pause. "Have you met Mrs. Dawson? She'll give you cookies." That line was the perfect example of the mind of a child thing Alfred has going on. Matthew's plight trying to balance being kind to his childlike brother and getting him to be the responsible relationship he's supposed to be just about killed me. ;_; I felt so bad for poor Matthew. Keep up the great work!

Aw, I was so torn betwen loving this adorable America and feeling bad for him. Actually, I am reminded of Flowers for Algernon. I love his interactions with his people; so cute. Aw, he's not friends with Russia anymore :( Poor Mattie; I can't wait to see America interact with other nations now!
