America has the mind of a child

reposting from last time, I hope I did everything right this time around ^^U
What if America is so childish because he truly is a child? His body was forced to developed to that of an adult because his lands were getting really powerful and wealthy very fast, but his mind remained like a child’s. He’s essentially a little boy trapped in the body of a gorgeous teen.
Someone tries to have sex with him and notices something’s off whether they succeed…OPanon is a perv. I’d prefer if he didn’t panic so much as he doesn’t even know what’s going on. This is the start of everyone’s suspicions. Whether Canada knows or not, I leave up to you, but he doesn’t have the same problem.
Bonuses.
- Russia has the same problem and that’s why he loves to “play with America ^J^” - England discovers the truth when he visits unannounced and meets a government-paid babysitter that makes sure he eats his veggies and doesn’t go to bed very late playing videogames. He shoos her off and takes care of him himself ^^
Like others have said, there's something heartbreaking about Alfred's childishness here, amongst the cute. And there's much cute, mind you. He's completely adorable with his penchant for disappearing and be the simple guy doing odd jobs at his little towns...
You're also doing an excellent job with Canada, like last time; the way he deals with his brother's antics and moods. I especially liked that moment when he was about to burst in frustration all the good but sadly adult reasons why America should go back, but then bribed him to get the same result.
"I'm not friends with him any more,"
Dude, this line...both made me chuckle and also tugged at my heartstrings. Adorable, but sad too. I wonder if you'll make Russia like this too? I also wonder if Alfred notices the difference between himself and the other nations.
So glad you wrote about girls noticing his looks (blonde Brando! <3) but also keeping their distance.
I'm just...really in love with this fill right now, author anon ^^

Arthur Kirkland was suffering a little from jetlag still when he sat down in the conference room somewhere in Philadelphia. And though he'd only been here a week, he was more than ready to go home. But it was nice to see their host; Alfred generally kept to himself nowadays, despite his involvement in conflicts overseas. But today, Arthur had seen neither hide nor hair of the boy. Seeing Matthew, he flagged him down with a quick call of his official name

The nations dissolved the meeting because it was mutually agreed that nothing would get accomplished with Feliciano mewling for pasta. Alfred leapt from his seat, and barrelled into Arthur with something akin to excitement.
"Where do you want to go? I know this place that has great burgers down the road, and salads too..."
"Al, can I talk to you?" Matthew said, smoothly cutting in with another pointed glare at Arthur.
"Oh sure, what is it?"
"Excuse us, Arthur," Matthew muttered, and pulled Alfred away briefly. When he was sure they were out of earshot, he turned to Alfred with a very serious look

It won't be too much of a feature, love. Just something to get the plot moving. I'm not a fan of the pairing at all, and so I try to keep it to a bare minimum in most of my stories.
That was awesome! First, the switch in POV. Glad to be in the head of someone who sees Alfred from the outside and doesn't know of his secret. You made it strangely believable, man, that this could very well be the truth behind Alfred's behaviour! Your descriptions of him are simply adorable; the pouts, looks, the wide and unrestrained beautiful grins, the big blue eyes I have a weakness for them, everything.
he had a penchant for these euphemisms probably honed in the Cold War when he was making veiled threats at anyone and everyone. This was great. I suspect you'll be doing the same with Russia, if it ever comes up, and it's great that others have interpreted that kind of vocabulary as threatening between them. It makes so much sense, because the Cold War, at times, was something incredibly childish and ridiculous in concept

Misunderstandings abound!
Arthur found himself dabbing at the corner of Alfred's lips with a napkin. He had no idea why the superpower made him want to be so damn matronly.
"One would think after decades of eating burgers that you would have perfected a way of consumption that didn't result in half of the sandwich being splattered across your face," Arthur scolded, though affectionately. Alfred laughed and then his eyes darkened as he looked just over Arthur's shoulder. "What are you doing here?"
"Free country, yes?"
Oh, GodArthur turned around and saw Ivan Braginsky standing there, hulking form framed by the doorway with a weakly smiling Toris Lorinaitis at his side. Ivan had a Rubik's cube in his hand in lieu of the iconic metal pipe, and had already finished the red side

It was a brisk autumn day, and the winds had picked up while the two had been in the restaurant. Alfred pulled his windbreaker over his shoulders with a barely suppressed shudder. The chill had nipped his cheeks and nose an adorable shade of pink

I am interested to see how this plays out.

USUK is definitely not in my top 100(x1000) preferred pairings and it would've definitely been a great pity for me to leave this story.
I just cannot stand it.
