Arthur/Alfred Cardverse Wedding Blindfolded anonymous August 1 2012, 21:05:22 UTC

In the land of Spade, it is tradition that the King is blindfolded during the wedding ceremony, and the wedding night. Not allowing to see his fiance/husband until the next morning.

Alfred has no idea who he is arrange to married, but wishes he could marry Prince Arthur.

Bonus: It is Arthur :)Love! <3
Bonus: Arthur tops ;)
Bonus: During the wedding ceremony, Alfred starts to panic thinking it might be Ivan. :O

What a nice story to bind their lives and destinies together, those were some refreshingly new ideas.

Can't wait for them to see eye to eye, so to say.

Aww, Arthur loved him too! I love your world-building, author-anon - all the little details, like how they swear by the Ace, and the Grand Progress, and all that - love it.

I wonder if Al will mind at all that it's so obvious Arthur isn't a virgin? I have to admit, the "Alfred's a virgin, Arthur's experienced and guides him into the world of physical love" thing crops up fairly often, though not many where Arthur had feelings for Alfred even while sleeping with others. And I always feel it's vaguely unfair - like Al's life will always be a little less well-rounded - that his partner has experiences other than Al, but Al himself will never have that.

Unless...he is the king after all. Royal mistresses are not at all unusual. Dare I hope?

Sorry but since when does the quality and equality of a relationship stand on the number of previous sexual partners or on the experiences of either part? Being each other's first does in no way ensure a happy partnership and vice versa.

I'm very sorry if this sounds bitchy in tone as it is not intended to be (especially as I've been speaking French all day and to now be writing in English is surprisingly hard) I'm just quickly answering this before I go back to writing my essay so it may be a little blunt ( ... )

As a person who was much like your description of Alfred here (chose not to have sex, not for a "saving myself" reason, but because no one felt right and I was way busy) prior to my current relationship with a far-more sexually experienced person, I thank you, A!Anon. I was just coming here to make this point myself and here you were, already making it, and far more eloquently than I could have hoped to.

I wasn't saying it was wrong or bad, just that this particular USUK trope has been played several times and I was wondering idly if this might be a fill that was just a bit different. Apologies for riling you up.

Wasn't rilled up, don't worry ;) Though I think the USUK/UKUS fandom has probably covered practically every trope...I know you didn't mean anything negative by it but I've seen replies and even threads develop over this same idea and I didn't want it to get out of hand and have both of us feel awful for it.

The line at the top should say “I'll be there right beside your Jack and Queen, by your side. Forever. I promise.”

Childhood promise from the beginning -> right there

A!A, I just read your "A!A here to answer all the not-virgin unhappiness"

*Does a slow clap

Aye! Rightfully said there! I wholeheartedly agree with everything in your statement, and I'm just so sorry you been getting criticized for something you shouldn't be criticized for. :(

I forgot to add this in my review, but I loved how you made India character, Arthur first.

I don't think Alfred should not have a mistress. It would not make sense for Alfred character, nor with the story ( ... )

Blind Trust 6a/6 LAST PART anonymous November 24 2012, 15:24:06 UTC
Alfred first began to stir when a soft wet cloth was dragged against his abdomen, but he had never been a morning person so instead of opening his eyes, he blearily reached for where the comforter should be and cocooned himself in it. A warm chuckle rang through the air and gentle fingers began to card themselves in his hair ( ... )

Instantly feeling bad, he hurried to pick everything up, though he paused when he came to a stack of paper tied together, he didn’t mean to pry but when he saw the Dear Alfred in the corner in a spidery scrawl he knew all too well...He couldn’t resist ( ... )

(Here sentences started and stopped, being only a few words long before having a line drawn through them)
Enough, I’ve just been rambling because I don’t know how to say what needs to be said. I miss you git, I miss running around with you, sneaking out to stare at the stars and sitting in the Library as you teach me to read. I miss you coming to the stables and talking to me. (more was scratched out here) I miss you. It hurts to see you pass by me with not so much as a sideways glance, to know that you will never see this or that we’ll never be friends again. I’ve come to realize how much I care for you, more than a friend ever should. Well you’re never going to read this so, I love you. I do, really and truly ( ... )

Letting out a very manly yelp, Alfred simultaneously shoved his glasses back on and turned. There, perched on the top of the comforter was a pale, lean and slightly muscled man in just royal blue pants. He had a soldier’s tan on his hands, neck and face, a slight -nearly invisible truly - dusting of freckles on the bridge of his nose and cheeks along with a mop of mussed dirty-blond hair. All of this seemed so familiar to him though he couldn’t place why until he saw first the man’s eyebrows, then second, his eyes of deep green. Eyes the like of which he had only seen grace one other’s features, expressing all the emotion that their owner could not ( ... )
