Since the anonmeme has just moved from LJ to DW, I was thinking about maybe the kink meme moving too? It's easy to import all posts over there, so we wouldn't be losing any content by doing so, and then we wouldn't have to deal with LJ problems anymore ( ... )

No problems! I'm pretty much down with whatever people decide. Someone in this thread suggested moving discussion back to the meme. I don't know if you were around back in 2011 or not, but the atmosphere of the meme seems to have changed. I don't think that would be an issue if its something you guys and the anons are interested in. Otherwise, I can move this over to DW as well.

Personally I'd be fine with having the discussion post back on the meme - I was around then and I don't *think* there's much risk of the same problems exploding again ;3; Would like to hear thoughts from anons though!

I agree. At the time, the split was necessary, but I think we've moved past that era in the fandom.

I like the idea of the discussion post being part of the meme since it feels more organized, but I'm fine either way.

Does this all mean that the meme is actually moving to DW?

I didn't mean to step on any toes. It's just that I think a lot of the newer people on the kink meme aren't even aware that this comm exists, or maybe don't want to go to an entirely different comm. Or something. Things have been very, very slow here, and I thought it might be easier if the discussion area was more accessible and closer, for lack of a better word, to the meme.

I just miss actual discussion. (No offense to people who like tumblr; it's great for some things. But as a platform for discussion, it sucks.)

Dammit, I'm not expressing myself well at all here. :-/

No no! You aren't stepping on anything at all. I do actually think it makes a lot of sense, which is why I brought it in more discussion. As I said, the older anons might remember the discussion post previously and the wank pit that it was becoming. That was why it had split in the first place.

But I would love to see more active discussion, and that can probably be better achieved on the kink meme itself these days, where there are more, and newer people.

I'm sorry, I should have been more clear. I notified the main kink meme mod, not you. I thought that since anyone visiting this site would look at the end for new posts, it was unnecessary.

Maybe a link at the top of the page here too would help though.

I'd be happy to move, since tracking the meme is the only reason I still have a paid account that I would love to get rid of, so long as the original meme stays so I can find old stuff using my bookmarks (tbh the move is probably a long time coming, LJ is dying)
