would you say dancing to th rock is more common out west there?--mza, who sometimes does th d.c. head nod for sure but mostly tries to dance when @ all feasible.

depends. there was actually a tidbit in the sf weekly about how people at the recent shins show mostly refused to move. on the other hand, box wine friday found me wedged in the back room of a local co-op, bouncing off all sorts of things [kids? ladders?] to the thinly-veiled peaches tribute of gravy train. so it varies wildly with the crowd, i suppose, but in general i recall philly as a much more rockin town.
