Of D&D and roleplaying...

So I've gotten myself back into a tabletop D&D game, 4th edition of course. It's fun so far, but the past four weeks have been a bust, the DM having begged off three times in a row, and this past weekend was Easter and I, and other players, had family and friend obligations to meet.

Roleplaying grumble and thoughts on running my own... )

I play 3.5e myself. My group took a look at 4e and decided it just wasn't for us.

Rawr~ *hugs tightly* Hiya, long time no talk~ n.n

I think 4.0 is fine, just different from 3.5. :) I have had fun with both so, can't complain too much.

*gnaws on your ears* That's not my fault, y'know. :P

Are you interested in a new RP MUCK? I found one and got suckered into bein' story wiz. o.o

4e just rubbed me the wrong way. It's too complicated and I feel like I could get the same feeling by playing WoW, except without having to write down a thousand and one individual abilities.

I'm playing a bit of Pathfinder over here. It's good times. I find I'm liking it a lot more than 3.5, although it is very much a 3.5 patch than an entire game of its own.

I have the books (that have been published so far) for Pathfinder, but I haven't yet played it. It looks good, systemwise, and the artwork has a style that I really enjoy. :)

I'm currently in two games right now: 7th Seas with a bunch of people and we go to my friend's house (the GM) to play; the other is an IronClaw game that my husband hosts online, we use GameTable to RP, roll dice, place a pog on the "board" to show where we're walking, etc. etc. Both have been real fun so far :)

I've also started making my own Avatar: The Last Airbender RPG based off of the IronClaw system, but I've put it aside for now cuz I'm busy with commissions and stuff.

I haven't played D&D in soooooo long. I haven't tried 4th edition yet...I like 2nd Edition, personally :)

Hehehe, 2nd Ed is so old skewl! :D

The Last Airbender using IronClaw? Wouldn't Jade Claw work better for it, since it has a more prominent magic system?

Well, I was taught on 2nd Ed and I like it, so NYAHH! XD I've tried 3 and 3.5 and...I dunno, I think I like 2nd Ed better :) Never tried 4th Ed yet, but from the lack of excitement the hubby had, I could tell he *really* doesn't want to try it ;)

Well, Iron/JadeClaw ;) I'm so used to saying IronClaw, but the hubby uses both for our IronClaw online game, I'm so used to just calling it IronClaw XD But yeah, JadeClaw's better for Avatar cuz it not only has a better magic system, but it also has all kinds of Asian-inspired weapons that come right from the cartoon show, so I can easily intergrade them into my own game :)

*nodnods* Hehe, sounds neato. Will it be face-to-face tabletop, or will you be hosting it online somewhere?
