Book Review: The Singing Sword - Jack Whyte
This is the second book in the series called "A Dream of Eagles" by Jack Whyte.
I tend to read rather quickly, and I have found that by reading books while on the bus to and from work, I can slow myself down. Even so, with more than an hour of bussing each day, the books barely make a week.

This is the coolest origami folding I have ever seen. I'd kill to get the red or white dragons done for me. That white one... he folded the scales individually.

A week of coughs and sniffles...
I probably caught it at my friend's fortieth birthday party. And it started as a tickle in the throat on Sunday evening. On Monday, my throat was raw and the head congestion started to move in on Tuesday. Wednesday saw the arrival of the nasty, body shaking cough, one that hurt to the bone each time it doubled me over. Monday and a strange dream...
One of those rare dreams that I was able to affect the outcome. A lucid dream, and way strange.
I was some sort of clerk, working in a warehouse of gigantic proportions, one that was hidden deep underground, and contained all manner of things kept from the world's eyes. Crashed alien spaceships, clones of Hitler, bizarre experiments gone wrong... ( Read more... ) -
Game Review: Supreme Commander
Just to note, the game comes out on February 20th, 2007. I have been playing the beta version for a number of months now.

This book is told from the viewpoint of Gaius Publius Varrus, who at the start of the book indicates he is of advanced age, and fears dying before being able to relate his story.

Movie Review: Bon Cop, Bad Cop
Well, I saw this movie in the theatre months ago, and it's come out on DVD.
This movie is a great Canadian movie, in that it hits every sore spot that exists between English and French Canadians. Every stereotype you can think of, French, English and generally Canadian, is played up in this movie, done in a sly, distinctly Canadian way.

Another busy week...
Woo, am I ever glad that week is done.
Work has been incredibly busy the past few weeks, and though this week was slightly slower, it was still quite hectic. It's almost back to the days before the tech crash from 2000/2001, the tech schools and tech companies having downsized, rightsized and merged to survive, and now they are getting back into ( Read more... ) -
Gah... another long week for the history books.
Erg... what a long week. Work was busier than it has been in a long, long time. The week started off with a few folks missing in action, either calling in sick, or having taken the day (or two) off.
