Maps are still handy though. I brought one with me and we ended up having to plot a different route home due to the weather. Captain was grateful for it because he could then tell the GPS which way to go to get the path we wanted.
I have yet to read the graphic novel but it's on my list of things to do soon.
See, if there's something I've learned it's that fandoms for the most part are full of batshit insane people and it's best to stay very, very far away from them. I love my TV shows but I don't actively seek out forums, fanfics, or anything where folks share the love. People are too passionate about their viewpoints and I'm here to enjoy myself, not to get into wankfests about which pairing is the best. Because, frankly, I don't give a damn.
I've seen bits and pieces regarding the Avatar casting - enough to make me roll my eyes. Now I haven't really looked up anything on that DBZ movie. I know Goku's white (here we go again) and I stumbled across a picture of what was supposed to be Piccolo but he wasn't

Hey, it's been a while! Had to log in to say my god, yes - as friends will attest, I had a fit when I found out about the horror that was Earthsea the tv movie... Have you seen what's been going on with Racefail 2009? I'm just catching up on it all, but this is part of it. Definitely giving me some food for thought for my own writing...
Not too bad. Better now that I'm taking control of my work life and stopping working for other people :) How are you? Seems like a strange thing to ask someone you've never met and have very patchy text contact with, but I guess in a way I've known you since I was about 17!

Good for you! I've been doing well overall. I'm currently working for other people. ;) Pay's decent and my job is pretty secure despite the economy so I'm going to stick with hoarding my cash like a dragon until I'm ready to fly solo myself. :)
Well, you're really never going to know people too well over the net but it's good to meet up with familiar faces in such a vast sea of people. Geez, I think I started hanging out at the Paravia board in my last year of high school...? I guess we're similar in age.
well I recommend it, you should be able to pick up a copy cheap- esp with the high reprint run it has now OR maybe some libraries might actually have it.
I think you would appreciate the extra layers in it, but mark my words it is quite a task to get thru
