Sounds like an interesting (but enjoyable) trip - what did you think of Freakonomics? I read it this year and thought it was interesting, but a little shaky at some parts and written really simply. And, this wasn't clear to me, but were you there on the queen's birthday?

i flew out at 6:30 on her birthday, but carlie was there until 19:30. i like freakonomics, but i guess i thought that it would be more extensive or have a universal theme (which it explains in the preface that it doesn't have). it was also just statistics, interesting statistics, but i thought it would go more into the economic effects and not just be all there is a correlation between such and such and this is why it is interseting/surprizing. the underground system was plastered with advertizements for it, so i felt kinda strange reading it in the underground.
