Here's something you may not have known:

Inside my left nostril is a tiny piece of skin or cartilage that makes it feel sort of like I always have a booger. A great deal of the time during which it appears as if I am picking my nose, I am actually poking at this small imperfection on the inner wall of my nose. If I had millions of dollars at my disposal I would have this taken care of ( Read more... )

can you tell the difference between the pseudo-booger appendage and other objects in your nose?

i once stuck a pensil eraser so far up my nose when i was a toddler that a doctor had to extract it

i've been so obsessed with hard to get boogers that my nose would bleed

i feel your pain

I can tell the difference, although the excess flesh acts as sort of a magnet for other nostril debris.

hey wow. the cartilage at the end of my nose clicks when i push the tip towards the left. i always try to make certain that i push back towards the right also, for symmetry's sake. have you thought about appearing to pick both nostrils? it may verywell be twice as distracting, OR it may be the lack of attention to the non skintagged nostril that has actually been causing the seeminlgy unwelcome obsession.
ps. i sort of really enjoy attempting minor surgery with my verysharp nail scissors. but. i know. it is a Bad Idea. im just saying.

I think my obsession with symmetry is one of the reasons for my annoyance at this otherwise insignificant deformity. Backyard surgery is an appealing prospect, but I doubt even your verysharp nail scissors would be a precise enough instrument for its complete removal. I have found temporary relief from a satisfyingly painful angry pluck of the tweezers. The growth seems to regenerate itself rather rapidly, however. A successful surgery would likely require the removal of a more substantial chunk of the septum and would result in a lot of bleeding and an amount of resulting scar tissue that could potentially be larger than the flesh I am attempting to eliminate. But let's try it; we'll probably be drinking tonight.
