i think that part of the reason some people have such a hard time accepting Christ is because the concept is so simple. all you have to do is trust that God will provide you with all that you need. just basic, simple faith in the Lord.

what are your thoughts?

that makes a lot of sense. i think people try to make God and faith more complicated than it is.. even christians. it seems too easy to just believe and go, but that's the way it is.

another reason i think people don't want to accept Christ is because they think they'll have to change, but really it's more about wanting to change. which again is simpler than it sounds because once you start communicating with Christ and other believers and learning more about him, i think some of it become a subconscious change toward what he wants us to be.

exactly. God doesn't say you have to live the way He wants you to, you have to choose to live that way. and you're definitely right. once you start talking with God, it becomes so much easier.

i think it's partly that.
i know for me it probably had a lot to do with
He is supposed to be my father - and i don't
have even a semi-good relationship with my birth
father so how could i ever fully give my heart
to someone else trying to do that same job.

i'll admit sometimse i still struggle with that.
but thats only what i think.

my cousin struggles with that, too. he doesn't have the greatest birth father either, so he's having a hard time accepting God as his heavenly father.
