in my chicano studies class were talking about women this week. we finished watching Real Women Have Curves today and compared it to the play. A couple TAs and the professor were recording questions we have for the author, since she'll be here next week, and i offered on of the first points. if you dont feel like reading skip the next paragraph ( Read more... )

hope u stand up 2 that TA, sorry he's such a dick.... the hours is one of my FAVORITE movies!! it's true about men and movies and the media. this country is structured on such a patriarchal system. as much as everyone likes to believe women- especially those of minorities- are highly underrepresented and without voice. i'm glad u are making yourself heard on this subject and i hope other women will be inspired to speak up as well- including me.

i must say, it's rather refreshing to read your posts- then again you tend to be refreshing. i hope thatyou're having a good time in santa cruz and with dylan, aside from this particular TA. someday people will stop and listen to your ideas, you might just have to wait awhile. you'll get there. love you, i'll come visit sometime. jewbie

man you are a great kid sara. i love how you reply to everyone's comments, that is class. but yeah, i love how grungy you are too. fucking amazing.

now my problem is that you are trying to put feminist traits on males. i know that is sorta stereotyping, but i mean by nature men are different then women. it just happens that way, and yeah lots of guys are too proud to admitt inferiority, but i know girls who are just as stubborn. look, in any case what i am trying to say is that i also hate your TA and i am too tired to follow up my idea, you know i had that spark to argue then i just lost it because of my tired tired body.

i will say that you are at least as smart as me... hahahahahah i am an asshole.
keep up the good work kid.

aww trevor you're sweet. i agree with you too, i get what you're thinking of saying. what if men added feminist traits to themselves. i know men who can say a sentence that would misogynist if it was said any other way. with the propper attitude, and accepting what women have to say on top of everything they think and want to think and do -- maybe that's respect, just work. some men, and really every man can, if hes free from local values, especially those promoted by media culture and conservatives, be both genders, and be a complete person. maybe thats radical, but it sounds like the most intelligent and most grounded people i know. too tired and tired and stony so good night...
