One

Keito shuffled into the practice room, fists clenched and teeth biting into his lip as he struggled not to limp. A small part of him wanted to, to see what the other members would say but really, he knew better. It would just be disappointing, to not only know but also to experience the other member's lack of care for him. At least by keeping his mouth shut, he could pretend.

Sighing quietly to himself, he threw his bag down next to Nakajima-kun's and stood before the others, head bowed and bangs obscuring his face from view. He couldn't see it, but he could feel the others glaring at him, once again holding up practice by being late.

"Where the fuck were you?" Keito heard Yaotome-kun ask him angrily, "Practice started almost twnety minutes ago!"

"So-sorry," Keito apologized, stuttering, "I got a little lost, um, on the train this morning. It won't happen again."

Peering through his bangs, Keito's heart clenched at the sight of Yaotome-kun exchanging glances with Takaki-kun, the two of them rolling their eyes, before Yaotome-kun asked Yabu-kun, "Can we practice now?"

Yabu-kun nodded and turned on their music, and practice finally started. Keito struggled to keep up with all the complicated moves, more so than usual because of his leg. The pain was so strong he could barely concentrate on the moves, but determined to show everyone that he could do it, Keito pushed on, ignoring the pain and what might be blood dripping down his leg, and kept pushing himself far past his limits. However, as he jumped to the side, Keito gasped and with a sharp cry, collapsed onto the floor.

When the music shut off and Yaotome-kun's screaming began, Keito could tell he was in trouble, "God damnit Okamoto!" he yelled, walking over to him, "You need to stop screwing up, do you hear me?! We have to perform this dance for Shounen Club in less than a week and," Yaotome-kun stopped, his anger changing into confusion as he asked, "Are you crying?"

Keito shook his head and attempted to pick himself back up, but the pain in his leg was just too intense and he fell back down, a loud cry unwillingly escaping him. Hearing the other members rush over, Keito peered through his bangs to see Yabu-kun pushing his way to the front, before kneeling on the floor next to Keito's feet. When his hands reached for Keito's pant leg, he tried to shuffle away but Yabu-kun stopped him, a hand on his shoulder as he said, "Keito, I need to see what's wrong and how badly you're injured. Okay?"

Keito looked away as Yabu-kun gently pushed his pant leg up, his breath coming in shorter as he began to panic, "It's nothing really," he said quickly, "I tripped down the stairs and-"

"Bullshit" Arioka-kun snapped, interrupting him, "I heard from Hasshi that Keito's been getting bullied."

"Bullied?" Yabu-kun's frown grew deeper as he starred at the small gash on Keito's leg, before looking up at his hidden face. Keito glanced at Yabu and could see realization spreading over his features as he said, "Keito, look at me, and not through your bangs but really look at me."

Keito shook his head rapidly from side to side, sobbing as he tried to pull away from Yabu-kun's grasp. He almost had it before someone else kneeled beside him, soft hands touching his face and gently steering it away from the floor and towards the group. Keito could now clearly see Inoo-kun, his sad eyes trailing over Keito's bruised cheeks, busted lip and black eye.

"Who did this to you?" he asked, fingers brushing over the small cut within the bruise on his eye, "Tell us who did it and I can promise you, they'll never hurt you again."

Keito took a deep breath, his eyes traveling from one pitying face to the next. This is what he had wanted, isn't it? He wanted the others to see that there was a problem, why he often came in late to practice and why he always hid his face from view. But for some reason, still unbeknownst to himself, Keito pushed Inoo-kun's hands away and shakily stood up.

"I told you guys," Keito sighed, "I fell down the stairs, but if it'll make you feel better, I'll go see the company nurse."

Ignoring everyone's stare, especially Arioka-kun's disappointed one, Keito left the room limping.

Two

As Keito stepped through the doors of the Jimusho that morning, he couldn't help but notice that everyone was starring at him. Checking to make sure his fly was zipped, which thankfully it was, Keito continued his way to JUMP's practice room, trying to ignore the stares from Johnnys and juniors alike. When he finally reached their room, he quickly threw the door open and jumped inside, slamming the door behind him.

"Guys, do you know why everyone keeps starring at me?" Keito asked, turning towards his friends and throwing his bag on the floor, "Does my hair look really ugly or something?"

"Your hair looks fine," Yuto sighed and stood up, "Keito, why didn't you tell us that your parents were divorcing?"

Keito shrugged, "There isn't much to tell. They've been fighting for awhile now, it was inevitable."

"Well yeah, but," Chinen paused, "We read about it online, and the article says it's over parenting differences, on how to raise you. Please Keito, you don't need to be strong for us."

"What?" Keito laughed, shaking his head, "Guys, c'mon it's cool, really. It's not like the world is ending or anything, I mean just because she won't be living with us doesn't mean I won't ever see my Mom again. I'll even have my own room, wherever she decides to live and I'll be welcomed to visit anytime. So it's okay, really."

Except it isn't okay, he wishes to tell them, that nothing is okay right now. He wants to tell them that his mother moved out long before the divorce, that at her new home there is no room for him, physically and metaphorically. He wants to tell them that it's his fault, and his father's, for driving her away. He wants to cry out and he wants to scream, he wants this choking sensation of sadness to just go away, but most of all, he wants his Mom back in his life.

"You sure?" Hikaru asks and Keito nods, silent.

Three

Keito sits on the park bench quietly, Yuto chattering next to him about this and that, hands waving all over the place. Keito can't help but smile at Yuto, so animated in everything he does. He wonders if Yuto ever gets tired of being so perky, smiling all the time and basically being JUMP's mood maker. He hopes not, cause without Yuto's sunshine personality, life would be far too gloomy, and Keito has had enough rain clouds this year to last him for a long while.

"And then Yama-chan said..."

Keito feels a spark of jealously shoot through him at the mention of the others name, but he quickly pushes it aside before it physically shows. It's not that he doesn't like Yamada, the boy is one of his best friends, but it's just not fair. Yuto all but throws himself at Yamada, silently begging to be loved back and Yamada doesn't even notice, his attention focused on Chinen.

"Yama-chan is so funny! Afterwards..."

Why does Yuto have to like Yamada? There's nothing that great about him, besides the looks and the cute personality and the incredible dance moves and, dammit. It's not fair that Yamada stole Yuto's heart and has no intention of being anything more than just friends with the boy. If Keito was lucky enough to have Yuto's heart, he would cherish Yuto and love him like how he deserved. He would be the perfect boyfriend, and everything would be so great.

"Keito? Are you listening to me?" Yuto asked, flicking him between the brows, "Ne, what are you thinking about that is so interesting?"

Keito shook his head, "It's nothing, I just remembered a lame joke Hikaru told me earlier today."

"Really? You'll have to tell me later," Yuto smiled, stretching his long limbs as he continued his story, "Anyways, so I said to him-"

Keito smiles, a hidden sadness in his eyes as he watches Yuto.

Four

After seeing Yuto longingly gaze at Yamada who was gazing longingly at Chinen who was stuffing his face with a cupcake, Keito decided today was a good day to eat lunch on the roof. Plus, it was one of the last few days of fall, so Keito wanted to enjoy the pleasant weather before it got cold. Thankful that no one else decided to join him, he focused his attention away from his heart break and to the yummy bento that Hikaru made for him. He was halfway through it when he heard the door open from behind, and quickly peeking over his shoulder, he could see Nishikido-kun smiling at him.

"Okamoto Keito, right?" Nishikido-kun asked and Keito nodded, surprised as his sempai made his way over to him and sat beside him, "So, escaping your nine group mates for some quiet?"

Keito shrugged, afraid to say something that would expose him. However, that plan backfired as Nishikido-kun smirked rather evilly at him, "Ah I see," he chuckled, "You're avoiding a certain someone in particular, and let me guess, you like this person, huh?"

"Um, yeah," Keito nodded, fiddling with his chop sticks, "I like him, he likes someone else, and that someone else likes another."

"That's messy," Nishikido-kun wrapped an arm around Keito's shoulder, giving him a half hug, "Let me tell you something about love, from an experience of my own. I fell in love with my best friend, but I was miserable loving him. I knew things between us would never happen and that hurt, a lot. A friend of mine, someone I wasn't too close to, noticed how sad I was and started doing little things to make me feel better, like making me lunch or sending me texts goodnight. During this time, I slowly forgot about my first love. I hadn't even realized it, when I fell out of love with him and into love with my other friend. But you know, if you ask me, that's love. It's not grand or anything, there isn't fireworks or all that crap. It's subtle, it's the little things you don't even realize happening. Love is a simple thing, but hey," Nishikido-kun laughed, standing up and walking towards the edge of the roof, "That's just my experience."

Keito nodded, silent as he took another bite from the bento Hikaru made for him. Maybe...maybe Yuto wasn't the one for him, because with Yuto things were grand and with the way Nishikido-kun described his other love, he rather have something simple like that.

"Thank you." Keito said and Nishikido-kun smiled, "Just don't tell anyone, I have an evil image to maintain."

Five

When a pair of hands covers his eyes, Keito finds it strange that he immediately knows who they belong to. None-the-less, he decides to humor the mystery man by guessing incorrectly.

"Yuto, is that you?"

"Nope, I'm over here!" Yuto calls out from across the room and Keito struggles not to laugh, "Oh, then it must be Yamada!"

"Wrong," Yamada answers, giggling, "Guess again!"

"Uh, Chii, Ryutaro? Possibly Dai-chan?"

A chorus of 'No's' echo back towards him and Keito can practically feel mystery man's frustration. Biting his lip as if in deep concentration, Keito slowly says, "Wait, this person has callouses, like the kind of callouses you get from playing the guitar. I know who this is, it's so obvious now!"

"Well, who is it then?" Inoo asks and Keito replies, "Why, it's Yabu of course!"

Everyone besides mystery man bursts out into laughter, and Keito pretends to look confused as the hands are removed from his face, "Oh, Hikaru-kun, that was you?"

"Yeah yeah, just me," Hikaru pouted, mumbling to himself as he flopped onto the couch, "Only Hikaru, no one special."

Joining in with the laughter, Keito wonders how exactly he knew it was Hikaru, before he even felt the callouses on his face. Maybe they're just that close or something, but he knows that if someone else had done this to him, he probably wouldn't have been able to guess right, let alone know who it was so quickly.

Figuring it wasn't worth over-analyzing, Keito hugged Hikaru and apologized.

+ One

When Keito entered the practice room that morning, he assumed quite naturally that today would be like any other day. Yabumama would be scolding a member from 7, most likely Ryutaro and Chinen since they enjoyed causing chaos with the juniors. Yamada and Yuto would be chatting about something or another, possibly school or the latest gossip floating around the Jimusho. Inoo and Takaki would be messing around with Dai-chan, who would still be asleep and Hikaru would be cuddling up against him, poking his cheeks and all around disturbing him from school work, practice, etc. etc.

And that's how everything was more or less turning out, except when Hikaru began to cuddle with him, Keito had a sudden realization.

"Holy shit, I'm in love with you!"

A sudden, embarrassing out loud realization, judging by all of the shocked stares.

Before Hikaru could even open his mouth, let alone question Keito on this matter, the latter had already pressed his lips firmly against Hikaru's.

"Well," Yabu scratched his head as Hikaru returned the kiss, a hand on Keito's cheek, "This was unexpected."

Everyone else nodded blankly, deciding it would be best to ignore the pair and continue with whatever they were doing.
