The trouble is, he likes the work. His passion is aeronautics. Everything about planes and jets fascinates him. He likes what he does. He doesn't like A)all absence of recognition for not only a job well done but for going above and beyond because that is how he does things, B)an inept boss who avoids confrontations, making decisions, and evidently shies from success which makes Ryan wonder just what in the hell he's doing it all for, and C)the office politics/shenanigans/gossip/backstabbing is so rampant, I've asked him many times if it feels like he's going to high school each day. He's happy- or relieved, rather- to be in his cubicle (when he SO deserves an office), puts in his earbuds, do his work, and drown out the idiocy
( ... )
I dreamt about you and Ryan last night. It was very strange and you were sort of at the eye of a hurricane in my dream, too (I was excruciatingly angry at my parents, and you guys got in the way).
Fingers are crossed for Ryan that the stress will ease at work. Or another sweet opportunity will come his way (hopefully in this neck of the woods!).

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Ryan needs to find a new job. They're out there. He owes that company nothing.
