It was sweet without being cliched and overwrought; I loved the way you kept them grounded and real - Becky is a nice girl, who loves her daughter, is determined to keep going and doing as much as she can, cares deeply for her daughter and wants to share that pride with her father.....but she is not perfect. She lets things get messy when Aiko is not there....she does not throw herself at Jin just because he shows interest....she is late with the rent...she feels real. (and you did a great job at making her rounded as a character - and connecting her to talento Becky. I pictured this entire thing with Becky in my head - and it all rang true.)
Jin was lovely and sweet and importantly not creepy at all!!! an unfortunate sign of our times that I feel compelled to point that out, but....he was not creepy at all He was so beaten down by life - the endless and changing shifts, the drinking and clubbing, the endless ache of not being able to see his ( ... )
