Rejection

Mar 07, 2006 00:06

Came home today and there was a rejection letter from AEON waiting. :/ I'm pretty disappointed. I don't think my interview could've possibly gone any better. I wonder if I did something terribly wrong and just didn't pick up on it. Oh well. Now I'm back at square 1 as far as getting back to Japan. I was hoping to be able to get back by like August/ ( Read more... )

Ah, fuck, that sucks. O_o I hate it when an interview seems to go flawlessly and still no dice. I dunno about you, but sometimes I go pretty crazy trying to figure out wtf I did wrong. I think sometimes it's just there's a truly amazing overachiever in ahead of me, maybe that's what happened to you? :-/

Good luck on your other applications. :-/

What made this an even bigger shock was that I think I interview really well, and since junior high I have never, EVER not gotten something I've interviewed for. :/ I wonder if it was because I said "like" too much?

PS, what are you doing for spring break?

Hehe, at least they sent you a rejection letter, all the places I've interviewed for never sent me anything. It's like I never existed.

You'll do fine. If you want it bad enough, the opportunity will come.

I had the exact same experience with AEON.
The only recommendation they had for me after the sample lesson was that I should have spent more time standing.

But, honestly, I'm really happy with where I ended up, so being rejected by AEON was by no means the end of the world. And, if I'd come here with AEON, I probably wouldn't have started snowboarding, which I can't even fathom right now.

There are plenty of other eikaiwa out there, good luck!

Don't sweat it too much, it might be best in the long run. If you go with NOVA or something, you'll have more motivation to find a better job with a smaller company. At AEON, if you end up in a school with co-workers you like, it can be difficult to cut out on them.
