~WILLIAM'S POV~

Something had been troubling Gabe, I could tell. But, he didn't say anything about it and I didn't want to pressure him. Hell, I didn't think he knew that I'd noticed.

I stayed with Gabe after the fall out with my mother, he never seemed to mind. Although, I kind of doubted he got much sleep while I was there.

Some nights I would wake up in the middle of the night to find him awake, just watching me.

I looked up into Gabe's already open eyes, I had expected him to be asleep still, but, he wasn't and by the way he had himself propped up I guessed he hadn't gone to sleep at all that night.

He smiled at me, it was a sad kind of smile and his eyes never left mine.

"You're beautiful," he whispered.

"So are you," I whispered back. There it was again, that sad smile.

"You should sleep."

"So should you," I said quietly. "Gabe, what's been going on with you?" I sat up and looked at him, hoping that my concern would show and he would answer but, he just stared. "Don't think I haven't noticed. You've been distracted ever since I moved in." I reached up to stroke his face, and Gabe closed his eyes, leaning into my touch. "I deserve to know Gabe," I said, removing my hand from his cheek, still, he said nothing. "You don't kiss me like you used to," I whispered; it was true, but, I wanted to take it back when tears formed in his eyes and started to flow down his face.

Gabe turned away from me and I knew I shouldn't have said anything. He was mad at me now. I wasn't planning on hurting him.

"Shit, Gabe, baby, I didn't mean--"

"Yes, you did," he muttered, not looking at me.

"I just want to know what's been going on," I told him. "You're my boyfriend, the way you act affects me, and... and you've been scaring me." Gabe turned when I said this. His eyes were open and his was red from crying. By now, tears were forming in my eyes too.

"William," he said, his voice cracking, "I'm sorry, I just, I, I don't know what to say."

"Tell me what's wrong!" I pleaded; I needed to know what was wrong, I needed to help. I needed to make him happy again.

Gabe shook his head, as if to say that he couldn't tell me, or wouldn't.

"Yes, you can!" Again, he shook his head. "Why not, Gabe? What did I do to deserve being shut out like this?" The anger that leaked from my voice was mirrored by Gabe's glare. He got out of bed, threw on his clothes and left.

He left his own home. Gabe's last words before slamming the door sent me into hysterics.

"You don't understand."

A/N - Sorry, it's been a while, not really sure when I'll be able to update next. But, it's break now! YAY! OMJ I can't tell you how much I miss LJ. The only thing that's been keeping me going to the occasional check to see if Gabilliam has updated. Plus, my friend made me read a story called Iron, Neon Lights, And Weed, that turned out to be amazing. But, I take issue with the whole William Beckett is a dick thing. Oh well, it was a good story. You should read it if you haven't.
