Deductions - PLEASE READ!

Feb 16, 2011 18:09

So, Sherlock constantly deduces. He might not spell it out, but there are certain things he's going to figure out. In order to avoid stepping on anybody's toes, therefore, this is a handy way to tell me the basics in terms of what he can and can't deduce about your characters. If a plot hinges on something Sherlock's deduced, then there'll probably ( Read more... )

Character: Dr. Jonathan Crane

What can he know, and- if you like- how might he know it? Crane doesn't really share a lot of his personal life. He doesn't enjoy remembering his time in school, so he doesn't bring it up. Other people usually do that for him. There wouldn't be much for Sherlock to know other than Crane works for St. Mungo's (Head of the Janus Thickey Ward) and is the Potions Master. And that's he's creepy and the other students don't like him.

What can he not figure out? Involvement with Death Eaters; Crane has done a.. fairly good job at keeping his alliances seemingly neutral. If the topic of the war comes up, his opinion tends to lean towards the good side ( ... )

Character: Alfred F. Jones

What can he know, and- if you like- how might he know it? Alfred is incredibly unsubtle and a terrible liar, so pretty much anything in his journal is fair game.

As far as secrets, umm:

1) He's flat broke at the moment, and he doesn't want anyone to find out. It's not too hard to cover up most of the time, since one doesn't have to pay for much at Hogwarts, but he'll be less excited about Hogsmeade trips and get slightly antsy whenever anyone mentions money/upcoming birthdays/god forbid the future.

2) He still has feelings for his ex-girlfriend, who is currently the (NPC) Charms TA (they dated last year, but had to break up after school started because student/staff relations are a no-no). It's fairly obvious, especially with how he acts in that class, so he's free to point it out if it ever comes up. He also kind of has a thing going on with donttelldaddy (who happens to be his brother's ex-girlfriend, which makes things complicated ( ... )

Character: Tsunayoshi Sawada

What can he know, and- if you like- how might he know it? Egads, there's a lot I could say (because I also like analysing people, haha). Hopefully this doesn't get too long:

Tsuna has a problem with self-confidence and it is glaringly obvious from the way he always puts himself down when comparing himself to others/the way he acts. He used to get teased about his incompetency so he tries not to draw attention to himself which shows in the way he kind of shrinks into the background. Evidence of his failed potion-making, spell-work and everything else is probably visible on Tsuna's person too. Tsuna has a faint accent which will tell Sherlock where he's from (Wales).

His mother is a Muggle and his father is a wizard, so he's half-blood. But since his father is rarely around he is mostly influenced by his mother and never knew of the existence of wizards until his letter arrived. This means he still clings to bits of his 'normal' life and tries to act as if Hogwarts is just another school.

...I think that ( ... )

Character: Rapunzel Gothel

What can he know, and- if you like- how might he know it? That Rapunzel's home life is quite sheltered. It's not really a secret, but it's something. He could have drawn this from the fact that, when she was a first and second year, and he was a... third and fourth year? I can't do simple math... she would've been quite shy and jumpy and in general avoided people.

What can he not figure out? Rapunzel's hair is infused with Dittany due to a potion her mother took when she was pregnant, and so her hair can be used in healing potions. Additionally, her current 'mother' is not her biological one - or at all a good one - but rather Rapunzel's kidnapper. This last part Rapunzel does not know, herself.

Is messing with your character's head with said knowledge out of the question? Currently!

Anything else? As I've mentioned before, I'd actually be really interested in Sherlock figuring some/all of this out eventually, if you'd like! But there are others (Probably Flynn and Max, and maybe even Tsunade... I need ( ... )

...That being said, Rapunzel's hair is all the way down to her ankles. Sherlock can draw his own conclusions about that if you'd like so long as they're not the truth, because really, it's... It stands out. She always says she just likes it that way, but.

Character: Mukuro Rokudo

What can he know, and- if you like- how might he know it? Mukuro was abused as a child - his family treated him as a test subject for experimental spells and potions designed to make him stronger and more useful. He has some physical evidence of this, mainly his eye as well as a few less noticable scars, but the most obvious evidence is just the way he interacts with people and the fact that he doesn't live with his family and hardly ever even talks about them. Also, he is an asshole ( ... )
