Rather than reply to the comments of my previous blog at highlyharried.livejournal.com/16776.html, I decided to address it in a brand new one.

Yes, I went back to the Brewers, i.e. the gay bar.
(Thanks for the encouragement nitedula ! Less warm thanks to zooper  - I am *not* skanky thanks very much, and certainly not for choosing to frequent a gay bar on occasion

Yes you do come across as straight, but I imagine that I do too and yet I'm not. It's amazing how few queer women fit the stereotype of what a non-straight woman looks/acts like! Many people would assume that you are straight because you fit those stereotypes; I thought perhaps the doorman made an opposite assumption - that, despite "appearing" straight, maybe you're in a gay part of town because you're queer.

But I like your idea better - that he wanted you there because you look like you'd add to the fun of the night.
