What do you mean over run by nightmares?
From werewolves to even giant heads saying the same thing over and over, the surface has these things walking around aimlessly. To put it simply, you can be attacked by demons and you can step into quicksand and you can suddenly hear people laughing at you in your head while your realize that-- AHH! WHERE DID YOUR PANTS GO?! That dreams are real and they roam the surface, invade your conscious, and try to make you lose your sanity.
This world contains ALL dreams. So if little girls dream of unicorns, there will be unicorns prancing around the place. However There are not as many of these good dreams as there are be nightmares. Nightmares have a tendency to eat good dreams.
Now, for characters who are vampires, werewolves, witches, shape shifters, demons, zombies, etc., which would be considered nightmares, they may want/need to keep their identity hidden. Or at least feel like they should. The natives are not as polite to people who look different or nightmare-ish. With good reason of course.
Dreams huh? Can I do anything in a dream?
Not exactly. After all, this is a dream brought to life kind of game. So, you may not pull out imaginary weapons or clone yourself unless the character can do that already.
What are all these communities for exactly?
• higure_rp is for first person talks through the PDA or in person.
• higure_logs is for third person entries, usually more complex events that you don’t want to do an action post for.
• higure_events will tell you anything major Mod plot going on. We will also post here when the landscape or weather changes, when the group enters a new town, and any large changes in Nightmare or Dream populations.
• higure_ooc is for intros, spazzing, memes, etc.
• Personal journals may be used as diaries if your character wishes to use them for that. Entries can still be hacked by anyone who knows how and cares.

Mod Plot?
Yes, a major event that tends to happen every month or so. The details will be written on the plot post, along with a color to let people know who are the people being tested if needed. The mod plot will at most times last a week..
I’ve got an idea! Can I post my own plot?
Yes! Player plots are definitely awesome. For people who want to create their own plots for everyone in the game there is an entry to do so here.
If you send it in and it is approved, it will happen asap as long as it does not interfere with a mod plot.
Remember, first come first serve.
No mod approval needed if you an a few others want to wander off on your own for a bit and fight monsters though.
What do you mean by stay active?
Just make at least one log or one journal entry in the span of a month.
If you have a good reason for not being able to do so, and feel comfortable telling one of the mods, then please by all means let us hear your case. If you do not wish to tell the mods a reason, then we will simply put faith in that you are telling the truth. HOWEVER Pull this too many times and well... you know the story of the boy who cried wolf.
We know real life is a pain sometimes, so if something happens where you will be unable to play please let everyone know with a hiatus post. Just put the estimated time you'll be gone and be back. If you need more time, make sure you infrom a mod. IF YOU DO NOT LET ANYONE KNOW YOU NEED MORE TIME AND YOU MISS A CHECK, YOU WILL GET A STRIKE.
Regarding being dropped, there is a warning and a three strike system. You can consider the first strike detention, the second suspension, and the third expelsion.
You're character will be dropped from the game, but you will not be banned. You can re-app that character again after a two week wait.
If we’ve notice you’ve been inactive and not responding to these monthly roll calls for two months, we’ll send you a message. If we don’t get a reply back within the following month, you will be dropped.
Okay I got all that. Now what about this "supercomputer?"
Just as the words imply. It can't be hacked, broken, or be reprogrammed; no matter how smart your muse is. The computer brings people to the world and sends them back.
It use to also fill requests and send the people food and supplies. That ended when funding started to dry up.
Huh... alright, on to the more important questions; like can characters die?
Unfortunately yes. And it is permanent. And you must wait a week to re-app. So think carefully about whether you want to kill off a character or not. (Unless you want to make them a ghost... you need special permission for this one though)
There will be plots were your character thinks they have died. It will be made clear when that happens though.
Can we keep our powers/special abilities?
All kept and are able to be used. Be fair and reasonable though or the aliens will find a way to take away your powers completely. Anyone that threatens their test subjects or the world will be stripped of that power.
Are "Alternate Universe" allowed?
Encouraged! And we allow a GB (gender bending), and OU (original universe) for each character.
The only exception for AU is that they MUST have something that distinguishes them from the OU. Whether that be different colored hair or animal parts is up to you. The gender bending is just as it implies, they can be the same as the OU or completely different in personality and history as long as they are the opposite gender.
We only allow one AU and one GB for every OU character.
Are OC (original characters) allowed?
Unfortunately no. Anything else (books, TV, manga, etc., etc., etc.) is welcomed though.
Can my character get pregnant here?
No, this would likely create an OC. The Chip will act as birth control.
If your character is pregnant before coming to the world, talk to the mods and we’ll figure something out with you.
What do our characters arrive in the world with?
You are dropped off in the world with the following:
- Backpack (in a size that fits, colors vary)
- Sleeping bag (colors vary)
- Set of dishes (plate, mug, bowl, spork, knife, all metal)
- Canteen (metal) with 32 oz of clean water
- Food for a week (Rations vary and are very basic. Dried goods or the just-add-water types of things)
- PDA (black and silver)
- A Chip under your skin (colors vary: Red, Blue, Green, or Yellow)
- Random people will be given a tent. You will be told by the Mods if you were lucky (colors vary)
So... our characters carry journals? And if so how are they supposed to work?
Think of it as a little PDA device that you arrived with that you can use to talk to people around the surrounding areas. It can be like a cellphone, it can record sounds, it does have something like a web cam for action, it can be used for texting, and it can store data if a character wishes to keep a journal. People can reply to the entries you post as well. You can customize it however you'd like.
Icons, moods, location, titles, and music are all considered OOC. What appears to other people viewing your journal entries is your character’s name.
If you are unsure about any thing regarding the journals, just contact one of us mods.
What about these eerie glowing things under our skin? What are they for and what do they do?
Those are the aliens way of tracking you. You'll notice it moves and glows a certain color. Other then birth control and tracking it serves no other known purpose.
You have four colors to choose from; RED, BLUE, GREEN and YELLOW. Try to cut it out and you'll probably get zapped or it will move away from your blade down into your body, so let's not do that. If you cut off whatever limb it’s in, you’ll be beamed away and returned with no memory of where you were just taken. Plus the chip would be back in you and you’ll be missing whatever you chopped off.
This may seem like a silly question, but what about pets?
Having pets is an iffy thing, but yes they are allowed. Only one or two pets per person, no crazy cat ladies, and nothing that is weird. Like dogs, cats, snakes, birds are allowed. Any thing that can be ridden by the person is NOT allowed. If you have a question about an animal, like a duck or sheep (which are allowed) please contact one of the mods.
If you decide to bring in a pet with the person because that pet is as close as their shadow then fine. But if you don't want to give up that pet of your characters that is as tall as a building, you will need to discuss a solution with the mods.
Oh! Can I play with the natives who were brain washed?
When they’re around, of course! Those NPC's are there for you to play with, and maybe kill if you feel like it. They are emotionless when they answer and go about life like a machine.
You can also try to free them from control if it is ever found out, unfortunately you will kill the person who is controlled.
If you take kill a native and want to be possessed by the larvae jumping from it's host to your body, you will become as machine like as the natives. You will be kept from feeling anything or saying anything unless spoken too. Slowly you will loose strength over yourself until the larvae erases you completely.
This would be considered a drop but you will not have to wait a week to re-app.

What about nightmares!? Can I attack the nightmares?
Yes! The tentacle monsters and things will attack you so it only makes sense you should be able to fight. And you do need to eat. Some creatures are not safe to eat however. Ask the mayor if you’re not sure.
If injured by a werewolf you will not turn into a werewolf though, only because these things are technically not the real deal. Real enough to eat or eat you, not real enough to turn you into anything else.
You have free range to write and make up any monster you wish as long as it does not attack people who did not agree to be attacked. If you have an idea of something you want the whole group to face let us know and we’ll probably give you the OK to post it on the Event community.
My character doesn’t want to follow the mayor. Or not all the time. Can characters go off on their own?
They may come and go as they please, but there’s a lot of truth in ‘safety in numbers’. Some Nightmares are more likely to go after smaller groups or people out on their own. Plus the mayor is the only one who can tell what’s safe to eat, has a keen sense of the chances of you finding your way to other people without the mayor is almost none existent. Everyone’s free to wander away from the group, scouting somewhere else or falling back to rest another day or two.
Where exactly are the characters walking to?
Hopefully safety. Hopefully towards people. Hopefully towards people who don’t have Riptels in their brains. Hopefully towards a way home.
They’re walking East since that’s the way the mayor says there was a higher population of people that way and more likely to have pockets of rebels. Hopefully.
