So, I recently returned from Montreal where I had Pesach with my dad's family.  It was really really great to be there and see people.  I got even more time with my favourite cousin, her husband, and their kids.  Their daughter turned 5, and had tied balloons to herself that she wore all through the seder.  Amazing.  This is the family I'd choose ( Read more... )

So, persis gave me a bread maker yesterday.  Now, I have fresh bread!  I am very, very happy.

This morning, Rachela came by and gave me her old Forman grill.  Along with my fleisch plates from my dad, I am beginning to really have a big-kid grown up kitchen.  Now, if only I had normal glasses...

So, we might actually raise the debt ceiling.  The deal, from everything I have read, is balanced.  Am I pleased that the initial rounds of increasing revenue to pay off debts are cuts in spending instead of a combination between those and tax increases?  No, but I am not surprised, either.  It does appear to leave the door wide open to combine ( Read more... )
