May the Devil roll a 1...

Before he realizes you're at -10.

Just a little tidbit from the Sentinels realm forums I felt like sharing. I'm making a brief re-appearance from my hiatus to write a brief post about Gary Gygax, who passed away yesterday. A man who inadvertently may have had more influence on my life than any other. I never knew much about the man, really, only ( Read more... )

Just last week Luka and I were reading those kind-hearted replies you've been making to our posts and saying, "Let's adopt Kirby." We were thinking how it would be cool if we were San Diego people so we could have you over for pizza and D&D (which is even better than doughnuts and anime, actually).

D&D's been a real boon for my social development as well, so I appreciate your tribute to the man.

So I've got to admit, it took me a while to respond to this, because when I first read it, it really floored me. You two both mean a lot to me, which is odd to say from the perspective of an online journal. Then again, I think I may have always wanted an e-Big Brother and e-Big Sister... *smirks* You mentioned being a Disney-phile. Someday, you'll make a pilgrimage out here and we'll make a weekend of it, so says I. *sagenod*
You both are very special individuals, and you both have a special place in my heart. And to think, with out Gary, there'd be no LFG comic, without LFG there'd be no LJ Community, and without that, we'd never have met...

As I think back to the turning point in my life, when I finally found kindred spirits, D&D brought that to me. Had D&D never been invented, or reviled/loved as long and well as it was, I would most likely still be that withdrawn, sullen, depressed and ostracized (both internally and externally) child that I was back then.

There is a special place for people who dream and see that dream through to fruition. He is definitely there, with all the other dreamers.

Damn Rainbow Connection... always makes me teary. :)

Someday we'll find it... the rainbow connection... the lovers, the dreamers ... and -us-. *smiles softly*
