Removing dishwasher drain trap?

I've been trying to figure out how to remove the drain trap from my Whirlpool dishwasher so that I can really clean it out and get rid of all lurking grossness, but it's been unsuccessful so far. I found a photo of an identical trap online - it looks like this - but the accompanying article didn't say how to pop this thing out. The manufacturer's

When we replaced the motor in our dishwasher, we found Youtube to be invaluable. I'd do a search on your model and see what comes up. Good luck!

I can't tell for certain from the picture, but there probably are screws that hold it down and that will need to be removed to get the screen out so that you can clean the well underneath it.
