Today I had my first truly negative experience with a patron. The children's department I work in has a display up to celebrate Banned Books week, a week that recognizes books that have been challenged by people for various reasons throughout the years. I work Tuesday nights and that's when the teen librarian has her volunteers come in. They're pretty helpful girls and have been great at organizing our summer reading materials, but man do they have the dumbest conversations lol. I'm a "Mommy"
Nisha and I got a kitty, Nisha and I got a kitty!!! She's a 10-month-old, former stray and we just picked her up from the Humane Society today :)!!! She is missing part of her tail, but is still the cutest thing ever. I swear I don't know how I'm going to get anything done now. She's so affectionate and I just want to cuddle with her all day lol. So my best friend from high school, who I haven't spoken to since this past August, called me up last night and told me she had just gotten engaged and that she wanted me to be her maid of honor! I feel bad for not having posted in ages, so I thought I'd update about myself if anyone cares :o)
I'm sad to report that all I've basically been doing this summer is working. Yep, no trips even to somewhere close by like Cedar Pointe (although I hope to get there before the summer's finished). It's not to say that I haven't been enjoying my jobs ( Read more... ) -
Fun with SI people
Okay, so as the semester is winding down I have to say grad school is no longer completely depressing me. Classes are still pretty stressful, but I've made lots of nice friends and enjoyed experiences I wouldn't normally imagine doing. It's weird how much I've changed in a few short months, but I wouldn't have it any other way :)
