Loch Lomond 2011

In September, John and I visited friends in Scotland. The weather wasn't brilliant, so we didn't get to go on many day trips, but we did get to Loch Lomond, which I was really pleased about as it was somewhere I'd always wanted to visit. We went to the Loch itself and the local Bird of Prey Centre.

Beautiful photos! And not so far from my 'home' - (a little more than 30 miles away). September's often not a good month up there - if you're looking for sunshine, you're better going earlier in the year. (April, May and even the start of June are more likely to be dry, although there's no guarantee!) My parents had a time share at Kinlochard for many years, and we often used to join them in the area for the week, which coincided with May half term most years. We never had a bad week.

Thank you. I've been to Scotland before even later in the year and had better weather. It was just unfortunate that the week we went was the same week as the country was affected by the tail end of the US hurricane/tropical storm (the name of which escapes me). I do hope to go in the spring/summer at some point but I have to fit in with John's shifts and-if we stay with them-the most convenient time for our friends.

Thank you. I was fascinated by the tree. I'm not sure why, I think it was the kind of gnarled look of it.

Lovely pictures, brings back memories of the few days we spent there and our day long trek up ben lommond on a beautiful day only to be surrounded by thick fog just as we reached the summit, lol. For a moment I thought I was seeing things in that tree

Thank you. I thought it might remind you of your own visit (shame about the fog!) There's defunitely something about that tree, isn't there? What did you think you were seeing?
