It's good to be home again.
That seems a bit strange, coming from me, since I've never really had a home, nor do I... technically. But being back with the crew, back on the open seas, it feels like I belong. And so I consider this my home. I do hope that, although the Thousand Sunny is transient by nature, this time I can call it my permanent home.

[ CHARACTER INFO ]
Name: Nico Robin
Canon/Series: One Piece
Age: 28
Occupation: [what were they up to before they were taken?] She wears a number of hats- assassin, spy, archaeologist, pirate, scholar, historian, linguist, nakama. Officially, though, she'd tell you she's an archaeologist.
Time Pulled: [what time of the series they were taken from?] Just after the Revolutionary Army freed the slaves on Tequila Wolf.
Personality: [Please include how they will deal with drastic change.] Robin has dealt with drastic change a number of times in her life, and by this point, she's accepted that there are certain things that cannot be changed, and one just as well bend with the flow rather than attempt to stand against it. To others, she seems unencroachable. Her thin-lipped smile is the mask she wears, and she offers it to all, even her closest of friends. She could be plotting the best method for breaking every bone in an enemy's body or slightly amused by someone's untimely fart, and her expression wouldn't waver. That isn't to say that she is actually that cold and detached. On the contrary, she's a passionate woman who relishes life and all of the simple pleasures it can offer. Her sojourn with the Strawhat Pirates has helped her break down the walls she'd erected to protect her heart, though it might be more accurate to say that they helped her install doors in these metaphorical walls, since she has a tendency to retreat behind them again when outside of the protective circle her nakama formed around her. However, it doesn't take as long for her to come out again. Especially if tempted by something "cute", which could be a patched together, three-headed zombie dog, an oversized crocodile with the shape of a banana on its head, or a little reindeer with a blue nose. She has a tendency toward the macabre, and will talk unabashed about death, or the possibility of death. To her, it's simply a fact of life, a part of cause and effect. This tendency sometimes has the effect of inadvertently distancing other people from her, because they simply don't know what to say in response.
She's unapologetic to a fault. Instead of saying "I'm sorry," when she's done something hurtful, she'll make an obtuse comment, such as "It seemed it needed doing," then strive to improve the other's situation through other means. She realizes her fault, but doesn't feel the need to comment on it or defend herself. She's accustomed to others misinterpreting her actions, and has given up trying to explain them. There are very few people who are able to understand her thinking, and those few many times share a similar, often misinterpreted mentality, and therefore refrain from comment.
Robin is, however, one of the most warm and caring people a person could meet, in her own way. She values human life above all else- even the lives of her enemies, and people who scorn her. She will sacrifice herself in order to save others if she believes her offering would not be wasted. History, as well, is worth being beaten for, as it chronicles the lives of the dead. She believes that only fools will disrespect the words of the ancestors. If she catches someone, or something desecrating something of historical value, get ready for the beat down of a lifetime.
In a fight, she is ruthless and unscrupulous- perhaps traits she learned from her former boss, the Shichibukai Sir Crocodile. She has very few rules, and most of her battles last only a few seconds. When she's faced with a particularly strong, or unknown enemy, though, she tends to hang back, preferring to chat a bit to get an idea of who the person is, what they are after, and possibly find some angle she could use to get herself and others out of the situation without resorting to physical violence. She's polite and formal in these situations, masking her fear and nervousness with manners and good-natured banter. It isn't uncommon for her to "switch sides" from time to time, though her loyalty never wavers from her nakama.
Skills/Special Abilities/Powers: She's a skilled linguist, and picks up new languages and writing systems with relative ease. She's intelligent and resourceful, and will continue to be so, because she has worked hard to develop herself in those areas, they did not come naturally. It is the Devil's Fruit power she gained as a small child, the Hana Hana no Mi, which the demonic village will thrive off of the most. She can "sprout" various parts of her body from any surface where there is room, and this within a certain area of affect, which her creator refers to as 200 hana hanas. No one is certain what this term of measurement refers to, but she's been shown using her ability to affect things from a great distance away. The strength of the sprouted limbs is the same as her own, though at times she will sprout a number of limbs to accomplish what one alone could not. However, it puts a great strain on her "real" body. Should one of the sprouted limbs be cut, her real limb will bleed. In spite of her physical limitations, she's found a number of uses for her power. In fact, she uses them often in even simple, daily routines. This can make her seem lazy or aloof sometimes. A thorough, in-depth look at her abilities, and a list of the various ways she uses them canonically (incidentals aside) can be found here:
http://onepiece.wikia.com/wiki/Hana_Hana_no_Mi Skills/Special Abilities/Power REDUCED: [How will their powers be restricted.] Since her highest "ranked" attack is that of cien (or 100), she would be limited to cincuenta (50), and will find it much harder to concentrate on them. The amount of energy it takes to maintain her limbs will be doubled as well.
History: [Please be as detailed as you can.] Robin was born on an island called Ohara, which was known throughout the world for its scholars. Robin was a genius among geniuses, passing her Doctoral exam with flying colors and being given the title of Scholar by the age of 8. She was fluent in a number of languages by then, including the one written on certain historical artifacts called Poneglyphs. Unfortunately, the Poneglyphs, and any study of them, had been banned by the World Government, who destroyed her island and hunted her mercilessly for 20 years.
In order to hide from her pursuers, Robin made a deal with Sir Crocodile of the Shichibukai- a group of government sanctioned pirates whose job it is to keep other pirates from becoming too powerful. Crocodile promised her protection from the government and the opportunity to live her dream, in return for revealing to him the location of a superweapon hidden by the same people who left the Poneglyphs. They formed an organization called Baroque Works, the true purpose of which was to help spread chaos throughout a country called Alabasta in order to dethrone the current monarchy, set Crocodile up in its place, and retrieve the weapon, Pluton. However, Robin never intended to tell Crocodile the weapon's location, and behind his back helped guide a ragtag bunch of pirates, lead by Strawhat Luffy, right to the heart of the organization and destroy it. In revenge, Crocodile stabbed her through the back with his hook, and left her for dead. However, Luffy refused to let her die and carried her away once he'd defeated the Shichibukai. Since Robin had nowhere else to go, she stowed away on the Strawhats' ship, and only revealed herself once they're well away from land. They reluctantly agreed to let her join the crew.
Through a number of adventures, Robin proved her worth as a spy, tactician, and fighter. Slowly, the crew came to accept her and her strange ways, even beginning to love her as one of their own. In return, Robin let her guard down, and began allowing herself to care for them as well. She found a Poneglyph hidden in an island in the sky, which has an additional inscription prompting her to adopt Luffy's dream as part of her own- making it to the end of the Grand Line and finding One Piece, a treasure hidden away by the previous Pirate King, Gol D. Roger.
However, a bit of darkness remained in Robin's heart, which a government organization called CP9 manipulated to their own ends. They convinced Robin to frame her nakama for the murder of a mayor, and whisked her away to Enies Lobby to be judged, sent to Impel Down, and then executed. However, CP9's ulterior motive was to get Robin to tell them what she refused to tell Crocodile- the location of the superweapons left by the people who made the Poneglyphs. In spite of being betrayed by her, the Strawhat Pirates went to Enies Lobby after her, and after telling her that they don't care how big her enemies are and declaring war on the World Government, asked her what it was she truly wanted. She admitted to having come to love them, and fearing that they would one day betray her like everyone else had up to that point, she had chosen to die in return for their safety. Then, remembering the last words of her mother, she told them that her wish is to live, and return to the sea with them. They wasted no time in rescuing her.
After the events at Enies Lobby, Robin really came out of her shell. She began laughing more often, and spoke less formally to the crew. All seemed well until, one by one, the crew was separated from each other by another Shichibukai, Bartholomew Kuma. Robin was sent to a bridge being constructed far away, called Tequila Wolf, where she was apprehended and made to work as a slave. Just as she was making her escape attempt, a revolutionary army showed up and freed the slaves, possibly with her help. This is the last we know of her whereabouts, and the point in time where I will begin playing her.
Third Person Sample: [Minimum 150 words: Please write about the last thing your character was doing in their canon.] Robin's breath came in short, icy gasps, puffs of mist exiting her mouth far more often than she'd prefer. The guard with the keys had given her more trouble than she'd expected, his lecherous hands unzipping her coveralls and working their way inside quicker than she could sprout seis fleur and snap his neck. She set the ring in her mouth and began untying the ropes about her wrists with a frown. He'd made too much noise, and the other guards were on the move already. At last the ropes gave way, and she dropped them unceremoniously on the ground. She turned to run the other direction, hoping to use an avenue of scaffolding to hide her escape, but found herself face to face with a giraffe-man. She gasped in spite of herself, the keys fell into the snow. It couldn't be, she thought wildly. A member of CP9? Here?
The man bent down and retrieved the keys, then held them up to her apologetically. Robin now could see that he wasn't a giraffe-man at all, but a man wearing a hat fashioned like the head of a giraffe. She closed her mouth and simply watched him.
"I'm sorry, Ma'am," he said with a grin. "I made you drop these. Here, you look cold." The man handed her back the keys, then took off his coat and wrapped it around her shoulders. With mild amusement, Robin noticed that he didn't bother asking her to zip up her coveralls, but his eyes didn't linger there, either, so she allowed the matter to drop.
"Thank you," she responded. The man looked about to say something more, but a guard had spotted them and began yelling to his comrades. Robin silenced him quickly, using her ability to twist his head sharply. He landed in the snow with a soft "whump", the man in the giraffe hat now eyeing her cautiously. A small group of similarly dressed men approached, one busy giving orders. He wore a rounded hat with a feather. Robin guessed he was their leader.
"We need reinforcements on the fifth battlement," he said forcefully. Robin knew the second she caught his eye. "Who are you?"
"Nico Robin," she answered. She saw more men in cloaks swarming the bridge. There looked to be enough for an entire army. "Now, I'm afraid you have me at a bit of a disadvantage."
The leader grunted. "I need to know where the main guards are stationed," he said. "You've been here awhile, looks like. Tell me where it is."
Robin gestured vaguely. "Good," the leader said. "You'll all be free to live your lives as you choose soon. I suggest you stay out of our way."
"May I not even know the name of my rescuers?" Robin asked, determined not to be left in the lurch.
"The Revolutionary Army," the leader said as he motioned with his hand and began walking in the direction she'd indicated. Robin's eyes widened, a drop of sweat formed on her cheek.
"Subordinate to Monkey D. Dragon?" she called after him. He did not respond. The man in the giraffe hat gave her another appraising look, then stalked off after the leader.
"Stay out of our way," he reiterated. Robin hugged the coat tight against her shoulders, and decided that it would indeed be most prudent to follow their advice.
First Person Sample: [Minimum 100 words. Action style, please. Also, please write about once your character spots the Crimson Butterfly.] *Looks around, still slightly dazed* *mutters* Oh, dear. That Bartholomew Kuma certainly gets around. I didn't even see him coming this... time... *Finally has a chance to take in her surroundings* *catches sight of a glowing red butterfly in the darkness* *can't help but comment* Lovely! *She continues watching, trailing it from a distance so as not to disturb its behavior* I wonder if it's a sign of good luck. At least it's providing a bit of light. Why is it so dark here? *the butterfly disappears* *casts about, hoping for clues* *a little desperate now* Hello? Is anyone there? *and maybe more afraid than she'd like* Please, don't leave me here! I don't want to be alone.

History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History: Robin was born on an island called Ohara, which was known throughout the world for its scholars. This is the last we know of her whereabouts, and the point in time where I will begin playing her.
Point in Canon: Manga chapters 545 and 546 (a cover series about what happens to her at Tequila Wolf)
Character Personality: Robin is definitely a mysterious woman. She cares greatly for her crew- their lives are more important to her than keeping the world from destruction- and she does not hesitate to sacrifice herself in order to keep them out of harm's way. That said, she's also aware of their limits, and will not hesitate to use them as a shield (or step on their faces) in order to save herself when she knows they are more capable of withstanding the damage. She's known to be weak against "cute things", such as her adorable crewmate Chopper, or a mangled, stitched together, three-headed zombie dog. She can be wry, her sense of humor, dark. But she loves to laugh, and finds the antics of her crewmates particularly entertaining. She considers human lives to be of utmost importance, but she will contort a person's body, breaking as many bones as possible, without so much as a grimace. When she first joined the crew, she told them that her specialty was assassination. She's often well intentioned, misunderstood, and makes little or no effort to explain herself.
Character Plans: Robin's experience as the Vice President of an underground organization ought to come in handy, at least as far as jobs go. Of course, Luffy is and always will be her captain, and his word is the only authority she will not question. Fairly quickly, she'll realize that she's at a disadvantage because she lacks hacking skills, so she'll likely take the Government up on their kind offer to pay for college courses (in computer science, with language and archaeology electives, of course!). She may find herself loyal to one of the companies, she may work as a double agent, or she may simply double cross them both. It all depends on whether or not the price is right. ♥
Appearance/PB: Incredibly tall, with long skinny legs and a long torso, Robin stands at an impressive 6' 2" (188 cm). She prefers high heels, which only add to her intimidating height. Her clothing choices tend to be fashionable, and in an array of colors, though most commonly black and violet hues. For casual wear, she leans toward an almost Gothic look with a heavy Western Cowgirl influence. For formal wear, she keeps her dresses simple and elegant, choosing more classical cuts that have withstood the test of time. She has big hips and a tiny torso, which she accentuates with belts, beach wraps, or hip-length slits. She's also rather buxom and flaunts it proudly, at times using front laced corsets in place of a shirt. Due to the almost gaudy nature of her clothing, her jewelry remains simple- a couple of bangles at her wrist, perhaps a pair of understated dangly earrings, a small pendant on a gold chain at her throat. While the color of her eyes varies by canon, this mun's personal preference leans toward the striking look of ice blue eyes gazing out of the fringe of raven black hair.
Writing Samples
First Person Sample This city is strange. It simply doesn't feel right. It's a new city, judging from the lack of buildings dating back for more than a century. And yet the streets are pocked with gaping holes, the walls appear worn down by varied and numerous natural disasters. It's as if time was angry at its young age, and therefore turned all the powers it has against the city, to wear it down, make it feel old and dying before it had really begun to thrive.
I miss my crew, to be honest. I find myself searching the crowds for their faces, against all hope. It doesn't matter to me that my dream is once again lost, that I will never again be given the opportunity to find the lost histories of the Void Century, because they simply do not exist in this place. I'm alone, again. No rowdy boys thundering wildly across the decks, no surly swordsman to be awakened by their ruckus, no cursing cook to kick them into quietude while perfectly balancing a tray with delicate fruit drinks. No Nami-chan, who put up with my nightmares and said not a word about them to anyone on the crew.
Still, if I'm here, it is possible some of them may be as well. I cannot stop looking for them, simply because I haven't found them yet. It took twenty years for me to find them the first time, I shouldn't give up simply because they haven't shown in the last two days. I haven't searched everywhere just yet, and the city is quite large.
Right, then. Perhaps I shall make them Wanted posters. I haven't much to offer by way of a reward, but I'm sure I could come up with something suitable.
Third Person Sample The sun had long since set by the time Robin woke up in the strange new surroundings. She shuddered, her body momentarily overcome by the cold and the nausea of... whatever it was that had happened to her. She supposed it felt like being sucked through a whirlpool. Well, she'd never actually been sucked through a whirlpool, so in actuality she supposed it felt like what she imagined it would feel like to get sucked through a whirlpool. In any case, it had been less than pleasant, and even though she'd passed out at some point in the process, she was still reeling when she came to.
Robin lifted herself up from the pitcher's mound, rubbed her eyes in disbelief. Signs and graffiti plastered the enclosing fence and the dugouts- some had been carefully made, others rushed. None wasted much time in letting the reader know that they were in danger and looked down on. Robin chuckled wryly. "Welcome to Siren's Port," she muttered, as a number of the signs made mention of that name.
A chilly wind picked up, so she made her way into the dugouts, in spite of a number of signs telling her not to do so. Some told her she ought to, so ultimately she decided to ignore the signs from here on out and go off of her own instincts. They hadn't failed her before, and if they did now- well, she wouldn't have much time to mull over the matter, from the looks of things. The dugout was stocked with a few blankets and what looked like food, so she took advantage of what was left out in the open. If someone came by wishing to lay claim to it, she'd invoke the rule of possession. Besides, anyone idiotic enough to be roaming around in this sort of a place at this hour deserved what they got, and she supposed that included her.
A few hours passed before Robin heard any sort of noise other than the wind moaning through the bleachers, and it made her heart jump. Some animal was chuffling about, and she made her way to the top of the dugout stairs to investigate. A giant, stooped dog caught her attention, almost hyena-like in build with powerful front legs and a comically smaller proportioned backside. It had an impressive beard hanging from its upper lip, the fur corded together so much that it looked like someone had taken a lot of rope and glued it to the poor beast. Naturally, Robin found it adorable.
"Come here, boy," she said sweetly, holding out her hand for it to sniff. The dog lumbered over slowly, sat its rump on first base, its tiny eyes regarding her in that unreadable way that only wildlife can manage. Once it had a noseful of her smell, she slowly raised her hand above its head and gave it a nice scratch between the ears. The dog's eyes closed contentedly, and Robing giggled. "You're a sweet thing," she commented. "I don't suppose you get treated kindly very often."
The dog nuzzled its nose against her arm, the ropelike fur, she found, was actually a number of smooth skinned appendages. She petted them gently, until one dug into her flesh sharply. Robin jumped back in surprise. "Easy, pup," she murmured, rubbing her arm where she'd been essentially bitten. The dog whined, then lifted a number of its ropes toward her, latching them on to her legs and arms. It moved quickly, entangling her and dragging her forward. Robin dug in her heels, pulled her arms back against the tug, but the pincers caught and made this an almost too painful endeavor. More ropes latched on to her booted legs, and she went down in a heap. The dog pulled her toward what she knew must be an open mouth, so she braced her foot against the bottom of the ropes, hoping to catch herself against the flat of its teeth, and succeeded. A quick sprouting of ojos fleur revealed a shark-like jaw, the teeth ragged and set in rows. Its strength was incredible, and it continued to try and draw her in. Robin began pounding at it from all angles, summoning arms from the ground, from herself, and even from the back of the beast. It didn't seem to mind, just kept pulling at her with a single-minded tenacity. The pincers that had hooked into her boots released themselves and snaked their way up her arms, trying to gain a more solid hold. The dog snapped at her, but couldn't gain purchase on the foot that was wedged too high up for its teeth to tear. She kicked its jaw with her other foot to no avail. She was getting tired of the constant pressure, her back burned from the strain.
It was most certainly time to stop fooling around.
Tres fleur sprouted from the roof of the dog's mouth and pushed downward as hard as she could against its lower jaw, just inside the innermost row of teeth. The dog whimpered as its mouth burst open, the bones and sinews shattered painfully. Robin wrapped her arms around the rope-like appendages, bent double, then jammed both heels hard against the front of its upper teeth, knocking a number of them out and fracturing the rest. She summoned cien fleur into a single, giant fist which came out of the ground. The dog tried to pull away, but Robin threw herself sideways, twisting as she did, pulling the dog after her by its tentacles. The giant fist came down on top of the dog, smashing bone and guts into the ground, then disappeared in a flurry of cherry blossom petals.
The pincers went limp, and Robin brushed them off perfunctorily. She glared a moment at the glazed, lifeless eyes before her, then checked the ballpark for signs of others. Surely their struggle would have brought more creatures. Another dog, smaller, watched her from third base, and she crossed her wrists defensively.
"Don't think I won't kill you from here," she said. The dog seemed to understand, and skittered off into the night.
Robin shivered. Now not only was it cold, but her clothing was soaked in blood. She went back to the dugout and curled up in as many blankets as she could find until dawn came and with it, a strange siren, and a greeter.

Wiki HistoryPersonality:
Nico Robin is a straightforward woman of mysteries. If that seems a contradiction, then good, because she's full of them. This is a woman who will fell entire armies with the simple crossing of her wrists- without changing expression or breaking a sweat- then go on to lecture some villain about how terrible the loss of a single life is. Her background as the sole survivor of the destruction of Ohara is widely known throughout the world, yet the events between then and her betrayal of the Shichibukai Crocodile are, for the most part, lost in shadows. We know she was driven to piracy by the relentless hunt of World Government officials, we know that ultimately, she wound up bringing utter destruction to those who offered her asylum during that period, but we do not know why or how- and truth be told, the why is possibly the most important thing to keep in mind with Robin. Very few people truly understand her. Even her own crew, the only family she's ever known, are often baffled by her movements. The key is, they trust her. They have learned that the reasons why she does things are more important than the things she does.
So, why does she act as a double agent? Why does she surround herself by idiots, when she could ally herself with the smartest men and women in the world and beat them at their own game?
Because she wants to live. She was not always physically strong enough to protect herself. Robin had to have learned that sometimes, saying the things people want to hear will allay their suspicion just long enough to make a move. By hiding in shadows, perpetually unnoticed, she found it was easier to move about freely. She rarely takes the spotlight. When she wormed her way into the Strawhat Pirates, their easy-going demeanor, lust for adventure, and genuine love of living every day to its fullest re-ignited a spark within her. She also wished to outwardly manifest those same feelings, which she had buried years before- and with the Strawhats, it was not only an option, but expected. Robin was finally free to do and act as she pleased. They have earned her trust, as well, and she has shown herself willing to betray herself and the memory of her people for their sakes- even if the world itself would be consumed by the ravages of an ancient super weapon that only she can bring to life as a result.
Habitually, Robin reads. All. The. Time. She serves as a storyteller and guide for the crew, often having some bit of information about the island or the people they come in contact with. She's generally succinct in speech, though this tends to fade as she becomes more comfortable with those she's conversing with, or if she has relevant information that requires a bit of explanation. She's a curious person by nature, often asking more questions than giving answers.
She's lead a hard life, marked by death, abuse, and deception. It is not odd, therefore, that she would develop a sarcastic, morbid sense of humor. After all, if one cannot learn to laugh at the tragedy around them, one will ultimately never cease crying. Concepts or even physical things that will generally give others the creeps, Robin takes in stride. But she does have her limits. Apparently the slimy, soapy substance excreted by the mangrove trees in the Sabaody Archipelago has a texture she does not appreciate, though later in the series she's shown purposefully and without issue exploring the same substance after it has been coated over the entirety of the Strawhats' ship.
Robin shows very little concern for the personal space of others, possibly due to the nature of her Devil's Fruit ability. She herself has physical limits that others may not breach, but they are determined by circumstance and propriety, rather than proximity. While she is capable of grabbing a self-proclaimed pervert by the balls without even the barest hint of a blush, she will not allow herself to be cajoled into overly sexual positions.
And here is another seeming contradiction in her character. While she tends to wear revealing clothing, one may notice that she rarely, if ever, bares her hips. Her breasts are often mostly uncovered, and if men ogle her, she doesn't seem to mind. But if she's wearing a short skirt, she'll definitely be wearing a pair of high boots. If she's in a bikini, there will be a pretty, feminine wrap about her waist. Robin is a mature, sensual woman in manner and in speech, so it seems that this distinct guarding is a signal to others. Look all you'd like, but I won't be easy to conquer.
Robin's likes can be described as adverse. She is often shown seeking solitude and quiet, but also fully enjoying the noise associated with living among the Strawhats. She likes big parties, but participates from the sidelines- content to observe the goings on rather than create them for herself, though she can and sometimes does join in the festivities when the mood takes her. She likes coffee, and things that go with it. She likes "cute" things- which can mean anything ranging from genuinely and understandably cute to disturbingly alarming things such as zombie dogs. She likes books and history, obviously, and has an extensive background in the varied languages of the One Piece world, as evidenced by her ability to translate just about anything to some degree of accuracy, even if the characters shown are vastly different from anything previously seen in the series. Robin does, actually, like people in general as well. It's part of her curious nature. It isn't uncommon to find her intrigued by those who not only agree with her and her way of thinking, but also those who differ from her. She's also a self proclaimed thrill seeker, which can have both good and bad consequences.
Strengths:
Physically, she's actually quite strong. This physical strength is only multiplied by the use of extra hands or legs. She is, therefore, capable of lifting and moving impressively large objects, like a 10 ft tall fat man who tried to attack her in the ruins of Skypiea. She is often shown using her ability to sprout feet from fallen nakama in order to move them to safety. She has used her ability to form a net which caught and held a majority of the crew when they were falling into the ocean. With only six of her arms, she quite literally broke Spandam in half, after shattering a number of his other major appendages. It is the only time we see her act violently out of a desire for revenge.
Robin's primary strength is mental, however. Her physical attacks are often clearly a result of quick thinking and an understanding of pressure points, physics, and the natural sciences. She is invaluable as a resource for information, and uses her physical ability to enhance this knowledge. In Water 7, she mentions a carnival that the people on the streets are talking about, and Chopper comments that she's amazing for having noticed. She shakes her head, telling him that listening to the talk around her is something she's trained herself to do since she was young. Before joining the Strawhats, she was able to give herself enough freedom to put in play the events that would lead to Crocodile's downfall in Arabasta- she saved Igaram after blowing up his ship, saved Luffy from suffocation in a quicksand pit formed by Crocodile, even managed to allow Vivi enough access to the organization to find out Mr. 0's identity without casting any suspicion upon herself for leading the princess in in the first place. She was clever enough to realize Crocodile's weakness to water and made plans to assassinate him, though she underestimated his speed and ultimately failed. In the most recent movie, it is Robin's flexible thinking which allows her, Franky, and Brooke to infiltrate Shiki's gathering army without causing alarm, which in turn brought to light the villain's master plan and provided the Strawhats enough insight to break into his stronghold at the right moment to bring said plan to a halt.
Emotionally, Robin tends to be the voice of reason in the midst of chaos. She keeps a cool head on her shoulders while the others are melting down. This is evidenced when, in Skypiea, Zoro falls into the White Sea full of Skysharks. When he doesn't immediately surface and the crew begins to worry, Robin calmly informs them that he must still be fine, since if he'd been violently devoured, they would see blood making its way to the surface. On Thriller Bark, she doesn't waste time being disgusted or disturbed by the zombies which turn up to battle the crew, she simply begins analyzing their fighting tactics and weaknesses. While she is a passionate woman at times, she does not allow her emotions to control her negatively. At the Bridge of Hesitation, as she watches the Buster Call- the military formation which was used to destroy her island and massacre her people- she is frozen for a long while, a bit of latent PTSD. However, as the attack continues, Robin overcomes it and begins to fight back, working towards a safe escape for herself as well as the crew she loves.
Weaknesses:
Robin's physical weakness is fairly obvious, as she is a Devil's Fruit user. If a majority of her body is submerged in standing water, not only does she lose her Devil's Fruit ability completely, but also all physical strength. Running water, such as rain or a shower, does not seem to hold as much of a threat, but vast amounts of it, such as a river, will affect her in the same, previously mentioned negative ways. Seastone, a metallic substance which exists in the One Piece world, will also render her Devil's Fruit ability useless, as it emits the same energy as the sea. These are weaknesses that all Devil's Fruit users must beware. As for Robin's specific physical weaknesses, she doesn't take a direct hit very well; and if one of her sprouted appendages takes damage, it hurts her. In Arabasta, she uses her ability to sprout a number of arms from a doorway to discourage any soldiers from following- a tactic that is effective for a time. But eventually, the soldiers attack the arms, and she begins to bleed even though by that time she was far away. She doesn't show as much resilience in healing, either. When Admiral Aokiji used his ability to freeze both her and Luffy all the way through, she was the last to revive, even though Luffy was frozen at a later time. After a number of the Strawhats' shadows were stolen by Gecko Moria, again, Robin was not among the early revivers, though her shadow was stolen fairly quickly.
Robin's mental weakness comes as a result of her strength. She often underestimates the ability of her enemies, as in the previously stated case of her attempted assassination of Crocodile. She is, at times, overconfident and too obviously manipulative, which can lead others to react violently against her. In the fight against Eneru, he blasts her with a bolt of electricity because of this. Robin spent much of her life trying to stay one step ahead of those around her, making her into a cold, calculating person for many years, and not a little bit paranoid and distrustful. After she's been rescued from Tequila Wolf by the Revolutionary Army, she refuses to enter the cabin of the ship, even though the weather is freezing, stating that it would be foolish to go in, surrounded by people who may be her enemy, without an escape route.
Robin's greatest emotional weakness is her fear of being left alone. She spent 20 years on the lam, never staying in one place or with one crew for very long until Luffy refused to allow her to die and subsequently took her in as one of his crew. They became the family she'd been denied as a child, and, as she realized the depth of her own feelings for them, she found that she could not bear the thought that they one day would turn their backs to her, as so many had in the past. A government organization called CP9 used this fear to their advantage, manipulating Robin into betraying the crew with the promise that they would allow the Strawhats to leave the island alive, if she would murder the mayor and return to Enies' Lobby with them for judgment. Instead of confiding in the nakama she was ready to die for and trusting them to take care of her, she acted on her own, unwilling to take the chance that they wouldn't understand.

First Person:
I've looked through the library, and I find it lacking. There are enough books, scrolls, and other forms of writing there to make the most inquisitive of minds go mad for fear of never being able to read it all. It is a magnificent trove of knowledge pertaining to a number of different worlds, or dimensions- it is unclear which is the more accurate description. And yet, not a word is said on this world's history. Who are the Filial and why are they here? Where did they come from? What role do the Malnosso play in this tragedy?
And the records are silent.
I can only guess that this is a purposeful neglect, much like the Void Century of my own world. There is something in the records of the past which the powers that be do not want known. I cannot help but view them now as the perpetrators of some great travesty. Just before he died, Professor Clover alleged that shame and guilt are what sealed away the history of the Poneglyphs, and that the current regime's fear and violent insistence that the history stay sealed are nothing more than the result of a collectively guilty conscience. Perhaps the same may be said of Luceti's history. The Malnosso seem to be the ones in control. Therefore, I feel it wise to regard them in the same way I view my own World Government- capable, and willing to perform horrendous acts against humanity in the name of their own skewed justice. They are to be avoided at all costs.

A soft drizzle blanketed Luceti's quaint buildings, the water dripping rhythmically from the eaves over cobblestone streets. Robin was curled up in the space between two cottages, cold but dry enough, except for that one drop that continuously fell in the hollow of her cheek. At first, it worked its way into her dreams- Luffy was poking her, his finger oddly chilled. She was reading a good book and he wanted her attention. But even Luffy, puppy-like as he was in his adamant need to not be ignored, could not keep such a steady, even flow for much longer than the count of ten before his own interest would wander off to some other corner of the ship.
Robin counted to thirty.
She felt sore in her muscles, particularly her hip and shoulder, as if she were lying on solid ground rather than reclining in a lawn chair on the deck of the Thousand Sunny. She shrugged her shoulders, trying to alleviate the pain, then shook her head. Luffy missed her cheek when she did. Instead, he managed to insert his finger up one of her nostrils, which felt like she'd suddenly breathed in water.
Robin sneezed, then gasped for breath. When she opened her eyes, she was no longer on the sun-drenched deck of her beloved ship. There was no Luffy pestering her, either. Just a dank, cold street, mostly abandoned because of the rain. She sat up quickly, taking stock of the situation.
Lights were on in a number of the cottages, their warm light reflecting through the rain in spattered, uneven pools. People moved around inside, and Robin could make out the shape of wings on their backs. She blinked, confused. The buildings didn't look like those of Angel City in Skypiea, though the designs were similar. The roads were cobbled, rather than made of clouds, and she couldn't feel the ever-present altitude sickness she'd encountered on the sky island. Robin stood and leaned into the darkness against a wall as she made her way closer to the road, using her ability to sneak a furtive peek down its length. The wings on her back protested just slightly, and after a brief investigation by touch, ensuring they were indeed hers, she decided to partition the myriad of questions that were threatening to consume her to the back of her mind. She wasn't sure where she was or how she'd ended up there, but she needed to find warm shelter before the storm grew any worse. Just walking up and knocking on one of the doors seemed a ridiculous idea- who knew what sort of people actually lived there? The so-called god Eneru had also been from a winged people, but his demeanor was quite opposite to the kind, giving Skypieans.
It seemed there was some sort of city center away to her left, and so with a quick breath and one last glance in the opposite direction, Robin dashed out into the rain, hoping to find some public place to stay until the rain let up and she could find some means of obtaining the information she currently lacked.
