i wish i could giggle today - TWC has switched us to a non-routable IP address, which means that our VPN is dead, Jim.

Arrrggghhhhh! Any chance of getting them to switch you back?

If it's just for sending email purposes, you could try port forwarding (the method I use, since my "ISP" doesn't even have SMTP available). If it's anything I can help with (if any of the knowledge in my brain is of use to you), let me know, I'm happy to help if I can.

I'm wondering if this was either a glitch or foreshadowing, but we've been given back our old lease.

At least now I know our current generation of ISP options here.
