Happy proof of life

Hello, dear Flist! I exist! I've been even more quiet than usual on the LJ front for a couple reasons.

The first is the same one that's been going on all year-I'm not actively fannish about much these days. Supernatural hiatus draws to a close, and I just haven't been reading fic or engaging with fandom in a long time. I did find myself overcome ( Read more... )

Congratulations! How exciting is this! I am starting L&D in nursing and will be in the trenches within the next week or two learnin' about birthin' babies. Just reviewing everything in the textbook and in lecture makes me excited - I feel like I am going through it all over again. Enjoy this time. I am a little envious, but in a good way, pregnancy was hard for me (especially the last one, post horse trompling and with broken ribs) but the wonder of it and the feeling of being a mom was worth all the misery of my pregnancy. And my misery was simply because I was pre-broken prior to getting pregnant, nothing to do with the pregnancy itself. So kick back and relish all that this amazing time has to offer you.

Thank you! We're finding it all extremely exciting. :-) I'm sort of afraid (and yet eager) to hear about your L&D phase. I've been paying closer attention to the textbooks I work on these days--they have whole sections of case studies for coding pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postnatal diagnoses and procedures. Of course, they're often really gruesome, so I'm like, reading through my fingers.

Man. I'm only just beginning to stretch out and outgrow my pants, but I hands-down cannot imagine being pregnant in such a battered state. *long-after-the-fact hugs (gentle)*

Thank you! We're looking forward to the new life plan--though not without a few "holy crap, this actually changes everything" moments. :-)

congratulations!!!!!!!!!!

I had two early (very very early) miscarriages between my boys and my heart just broke for you earlier. I'm thrilled beyond thrilled for you and Marc.

Thank you, honey. It's such a weird and sad club to be in, isn't it? I found a yoga group early this summer for women with fertility issues, and was both surprised and comforted by how many of them had been through it (and so many of those with multiple miscarriages). I was so afraid to tell them I was pregnant, but they were all really happy and supportive. Gives everyone hope to see someone overcome it--which is what you did for me earlier this year, so thank you.

Aw, thanks, buddy! We sincerely hope not to screw this up :-)

Man, I can't tell you how relieved I am about the no barfing. I mean, you know. If I have to barf, I'll barf. But Marc's sister was SO UNBELIEVABLY sick the weekend she stayed with us when she was right around 13 weeks, and it struck fear into my heart to see her hanging over the toilet 8 hours a day. DO NOT WANT. So. Thanking my lucky stars on that front :-)
