This is totally in the same universe as The Discovery of Space. It can be counted separately, but uh. That's what's going on in my mind. Also, my MSI kink, can you see it?

It happens gradually, for the most part. Axel's the singer of their relationship- "I'm gonna rouge my knees and roll my stockings down" while he's washing dishes, "I'm walking on sunshine, and it's starting to feel good" as they're bringing the groceries in- then that time he'd spent an entire shower screaming Tight at the top of his lungs until Roxas had finally shoved his homework away and given him a different reason to moan and whimper.

Axel's the one who makes a spectacle of himself by pulling Roxas into impromptu dances in the middle of the mall and singing Heat of the Moment until Roxas stops laughing enough to join him. Roxas likes to blame South Park, but really, that's just what Axel does. But the thing is, after living with the guy for close to five years, the singing gets contagious.

It's not that he does it all the time, because he doesn't. Not really. There was that time at the Western Air Temple where they'd tried that thing- that one that had Zuko wailing in horror and shocked pleasure, and okay, he hadn't known that Zuko would freak out so much about a hammock over a seven hundred foot drop. He was an airbender. These things don't really bother him. And anyway- the point is, he'd been way too busy rescuing Zuko from a grisly death when the stupid prince had finally flailed too much and flipped the whole thing over to fall asleep.

And then there was the time at that nice little place in Ba-Sing-Se and that other time last fall when they'd gone to sign some treaties with the Northern Water Tribe and ended up hiding away in their rooms the whole time, sharing warmth. (And they both had a lot of it.) The point is, Aang doesn't always fall asleep afterwards.

It's just- well, Zuko's bed is really comfortable. And after a year or so of traveling the world, sleeping on the ground and Aapa and the occasional tick-

When Riku was ten, his mom had taken him to visit his Great Aunt Nora. At first, he'd been excited. After all, it wasn't often that he got a chance to get off the islands, much less go on a vacation. The ferry ride to the main lands had been interesting- he'd watched the gulls fight over the crumbs that the other occupant's had tossed overboard and for much of the ride he'd sat in the driver's seat of his mom's Camaro, pretending that he was going on a grand adventure and that this time, his parents were the ones who got to be bored in the backseat

Which gets them to where they are now, bickering quietly under thin blankets with a broken heater and a leaky roof- the memory of burnt cabbage in his nostrils. .

"I have school in the morning and I'm not going to be able to feel my fingers. I told you to call maintenance a week ago."

Axel scoffs and tugs him closer, yanking Riku's hands up to his mouth so he can breathe on them. He takes the time to hitch one leg around Riku's hips as well, pressing them as close as possible. His eyes are amused. "Bitch, bitch, bitch. I told you, I did call them last week. It's not my fault they haven't shown up yet."

Riku scowls and slips his cold toes up against Axel's, pleased when the other man hisses.

For several minutes there's just silence, the drip drip drip of the melted snow dripping through the cracks and the sounds of 4B "warming up".
