The scent of a summer's night...
Hobbitmum has a lot of scented plants in her garden. Philadelphus, honeysuckle... And tonight, as it was warm, the scent was amazing. I really wish I could capture and transmit that wonderful aroma to everyone, because it was stunning.
Of course, she can't go out there, because the heavy scent sets her hay fever off, but hey! I liked it...! -
Wildlife Aid open day
Hobbitmum and I went to visit the Wildlife Aid open day today. It was very busy, even though the weather was very overcast and actually quite chilly this morning. This is a Good Thing, because it costs £1000 each week to run the centre, and it is all by fundraising and donations - there is no government funding for it. Which is just as well, ( Read more... ) -
A quick flyby...
I had to come home from work lunchtime yesterday because I was so tired I could barely sit up. I have no idea why I was quite so tired, but I do know that I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow at 1.15 pm and I didn't wake again until 5.45 pm! Best night...
I've just had a great night out. We went to see Dreamboats and Petticoats at the Playhouse Theatre in Northumberland Avenue. It was two hours twenty minutes of solid singing - all the old hits from 1961, with dialogue written by Lawrence Marks and Maurice Gran (they wrote Birds of a Feather). We have trees that look like Ents...
As the weather has improved, and I drive down the road next to me on my way to work I look at these trees that have foliage that grow from the base. And to me, they look like Ents.

Sadly, not good news...
My friend's test results are in. She has breast cancer in the left breast that has gone into the lymph glands. We are all in shock at the moment and I'm not sure what treatment has been recommended, nor when it starts. She wasn't in the mood for talking after she got the results, so I have texted her to say I will be here if she needs to talk, ( Read more... )
